Worst communication and service I have ever received in a company. Absolutely appalling!!!!! It has been MONTHS of me emailing and calling to get assistance and nothing. Disgusting.

Abysmal. I had my car broken into with a phone and card stolen. The claim was broken into two incidents – one for the broken glass on the car and one for the stolen goods. The Glass claim was processed quickly but because it was subject to a $500 excess I ended up paying for the whole job. The contents claim was mistakenly processed by Vero or Aon( two entities dealing with one claim is the perfect basis for the following confusion) as a vehicle claim unknown to me. This resulted an hours on the phone with a call Centre in Manila being transferred from one clueless operator to another on multiple occasions I would estimate it took about 10 to 15 hours , of talking and holding being subject to a barrage of inane questions without any result over the course of 4-5 separate calls. Finally, in desperation I managed to speak to an employee in New Zealand- rare hero in this exhausting saga, who spent an hour on the phone with me going back over the file and establishing the error resided with Vero-or was it Aon and re-filing the incorrectly Assigned claim from vehicle to contents. I then had to re-submit the claim which was processed in about two weeks – remembering this is now six weeks after the initial claim was begun – with the result being a payout of $234.for a phone that cost me $800 over three years ago. Vero then attempted to charge me an excess for that claim as well. I then spent another two hours showing them that this claim was part of the earlier claim for which only one excess should have been charged. As a result for my $350 a month of premiums that I have been paying for seven years, I received a $234 payout for about $2000 worth of damages and 15 to 20 hours of my time dealing with a company apparently populated by total idiots, with the odd rare exception. I received an apology from them , with a $15 box of chocolates, which was appreciated, but which really just amplified my aggravation at the whole ridiculous process. I would have preferred a fair payout for the stolen telephone which cost me $1200 to replace. Ironically, during the process, due to an error on my behalf, that months premium was missed. It turns out, when they are owed money they can be very efficient and I was contacted that next day about the overdue payment. The whole experience reeked of a negligence bordering on criminality. A business model based on stringing their customers along and avoiding their obligations till the customer gives up, dies, or writes a filthy review on Google. They are the reason that Insurance companies are generally viewed with the same loathing reserved for criminals and politicians. Avoid them like the plague.

The very professional people at ANZ helped myself and my 91 year old father apply for house, contents and vehicle insurance. The application was sent to Vero. This was on a Friday afternoon. I then received a very aggressive, almost threatening email from Vero. I had 48 hours to provide them with EQC information. Yeah right, 48 hours over the weekend! What an interesting way to treat a 91 year old veteran. Vero, hang your head in shame. We will not be insuring with you.

Just a horrible draining experience, please do not get your car insured with Vero. It has been a month of calls that end up just going round in circles. It is genuinely like talking to a brick wall. They will do anything to delay payments and make up the strangest stories on why they don't do anything. One guy said that the reason they hadn't received the quote was because of a bug in the system but then talking to another person they see it fine. Im still waiting for it to be assessed- the repairer has told them in the quote that is is a total loss but yet still it takes forever. I am disappointed.

I received a concussion and injuries because a driver with Vero failed to stop at a red light, three months later they are still trying to get out of paying me anything. This company does more to protect dangerous drivers than help victims.

There is a reason there reviews are so low if I could rate them 0 stars I would. We have been loyal customer for 13 years this means nothing to vero. When it comes time to claim they real are not interested

If I could give this so called company a negative -5 stars I definitely would, during the earthquake in CHRISTCHURCH this company said that our warehouse damage, "which the back of it separated from the front" was NOT because of the earthquake it just happened by itself???? In my life I have never seen the back of a huge warehouse decide to separate itself from the front to the back, what a joke!!! There is alot of extra disgusting things they did that I will not discuss on here. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

Is this NZ's most incompetent insurance company? Yes! Utterly hopeless - I've bought a new car and was recommended by Tesla to use these guys. I've sent all the details they asked and haven't had. reply and am not even sure if I'm currently insured, They don't respond to emails and, when you ring, I've never managed to talk to someone - it's always "there is no-one available" please leave a message" and then it just disconnects you and doesn't let you leave a message,. I've never come across an insurance company as poor as this and judging by the other reviews I'm far from alone. Will be complaining too Tesla as well and suggest that they find a different company to recommend to their customers
