Easily the filthiest cab I have ever traveled in, so much so I feel I should be charging Blue star the soiling fee. Our first trip our driver told us he had been in trouble with his boss for talking too much. Then he non stop babbled our entire journey. Including a phone call with a colleague running the company down, this distraction made the ride quite nerve racking as our driver was not concentrating on the road. Day two we prayed to get a different cab but no same bloke same filth but we added being 20 minutes late to our list of woes. Along with an extra passenger who was a complete unknown. Blue star used to set the standard for Taxis this was absolutely awful Cab 56

No wonder everyone takes Uber. Just took a taxi from Riccarton Races to Burnside. Usually $20. Cost $51. The driver made no effort to go around and avoid traffic, even when I suggested it. He sat and waited watching the meter tick up. Then when we stopped it was $48. He punched in $51.50 to the eftpos machine and hid it with just the tap part facing me. I asked him to show me and then questioned. He said it was an eftpos fee. So dirty. Never again. Uber is the way to go.

You would expect their drivers to know basic road rules. Just encountered the pictured Blue Star taxi sitting over the footpath exoting a car park waiting to turn into the road. He saw me, had plenty of time to move, ut just sat there. I was forced to walk around him on the road. He then chose to lean on his horn, gave me a nasty look, and yell insults out the window, because the road cleared while I was forced to walk past. Screamed at me "I had me indicator on!" And yelled some more insults. Was told what a moron he was, given he was stopped over the footpath illegally. More insults. Yelled "they wont do anything" when I poinred out he needed to leave or I'd be calling Blue Star . Then pulled out into busy traffic, cutting multiple people off when I attempted to photo/ID him. Oddly for a passenger servicethery have no identifying numbers on the side, where their customers can actually see them.

(NOTE: Edited after Blue Star Taxis' response — I asked at booking if they accepted dogs and I was told they did and I mentioned the dog and the destination being the vets every time I spoke to someone from the company). The dog I was looking after was attacked, so I booked him in at the vets and booked a cab an hour before the appointment as I don’t drive and explained what had happened to a lovely, sympathetic operator. We went outside five minutes before the taxi was due and when it hadn’t arrived after 10 minutes, the operator said the cabbie had gone to the house. When I explained I didn’t see any car and I’d been waiting outside, they said that was strange and they would send another one out in five minutes. Then I got a phone call from someone else saying they were 10 minutes away. I said that was strange as the operator said they were five minutes away, but no worries. I phoned the vets to say I’d now be late. Then a man from the taxi company rang and said the other car couldn’t come, that Scarborough was too far away and the taxi would be another 20 minutes. So I told him not to bother and knocked on a kindly neighbour’s door and she drove me to the vets. I don’t live in this area and hardly know the lady, but the main thing was I got the dog seen to thanks to her kindness.

Tarun cab 55 and Harry cab 10 are the most amazing taxi drivers. They are friendly and caring. I travel a lot and use them all the time. That have never let me down in the 2 years I’ve been using them. Thank you so much for a great service. Jane and Ryan

We had a very bad experience on the 11th July at Christchurch Airport at 1am in the morning. We had a voucher through Super Shuttles (another story which failed to turn up) for them to take us home. They said when seeing our voucher we can’t take you as my system is down you will wait for the next Blue Star . After 10min wait one arrived after loading bags driver was shown voucher, at this point he said “ I can’t take you as past my time” . At this point we gave up and caught an uber which was there in 2 minutes. ADVICE If you want to get home without any hassles catch an Uber. Ps still waiting for apology from Blue Star

Joy and Yohan provided our karate family an amazing experience and smooth transport for family of 5 with many pieces of luggage. I highly recommend this professional duo for your efficient transport needs. Our other blue star driver Ali was excellent too. Taxis were clean and comfortable.

I booked taxi a day before. The driver didn't arrive on time. Called again, got confirmation that the driver is on the way. Waited for 15mins and noticed 2 missed calls. I didn't attend to the phone ringing because they usually send me text message. I called back and one of staff said he did not call me. So waited again and called the taxi company, the staff wasn’t good at communication so ended up talking to the supervisor. He said because I didn't pick up the phone, he send him away after 2min (!). I said that I wasn't expecting call from them, and he said their text message is not working (which wasn’t true, as I checked other people got text messages at that time). How would I know? Why didn't they let me know at first place that the text system is not working?? I could’ve called another taxi company. The supervisor was very rude and wasn’t interested in solving the problem at all. His attitude was ‘there’s nothing I can do’

Second time that I've had a booking go missing and no taxi arrive. When I rang to find out where my taxi was, the dispatcher transferred my call to WELLINGTON Taxi Co-Op (for a Christchurch customer) and didn't order a taxi for me. On my second call to chase up the cab the dispatcher ordered one for me. The driver was nice, but the overall service and reliability means I will never book with them again as I don't want to be trying to track down a lost taxi booking in the early hours of the morning.

We booked a taxi the evening before for a 345 am taxi to take us to the airport for an early morning flight. When the taxi didn't arrive on time, I called the dispatcher who told me they were overbooked and could not tell me when or if the taxi would arrive. We had to then drive and leave our car in long term parking at considerable expense.
