The show was amazing but the seating is awful (I see I am not the only one to think this). To be honest it puts me off going again and I used to go a few times a year. This time I had a high seat didn't realize I had booked this type, but tried row d centre and was ver cramped before.I am 5ft 6 .Usherette kindly gave me an upturned bucket to rest my feet on!! The foot rest bar you would have to bend your legs backwards to try and reach.

Stunning new venue with lots of tables and cafe space, including upstairs. Seats inside very tight and on an angle, which was unexpected! Will book floor seats for next show for sure. Definitely check out The Court at its new home!

Our first visit to the new theatre. What an amazing space. Beautifully construction connecting people in many different spaces. The show was fantastic as always. We also had a delicious pizza with sides. We can't wait to go back.

Dear Team, My husband and I are originally from Europe, where the arts, especially theatre, are a big part of life and held to a very high standard. Since moving to New Zealand two years ago, one of the things we've really missed is that rich cultural scene. We've tried a few theatre experiences here, but to be honest, they didnβt quite meet our expectations in terms of professional level. But after seeing The Kingβs Speech last Saturday, I turned to my husband and said, βMy faith in theatre in New Zealand has just been restored!β It was absolutely incredible - a truly professional and powerful production. The performances were fantastic, the scenography was beautiful, and the whole atmosphere in the theatre was so warm and welcoming. It was simply a wonderful experience from start to finish. Weβre so happy to have found a place where we can enjoy strong, high-quality theatre again. Iβve already bought tickets for Wolf Play - we canβt wait! A huge thank you to all the actors and every member of the team who made this show so special. Your hard work really shines.

Went to The Sweet Science of Bruising last night and loved it. The young cast are the future actors not only for the Court Theatre but Iβm sure weβll be seeing some of them in movies and TV. A very polished and physical performance. Well done.

Next to Normal is a powerful thought provoking musical exposing the raw impact mental health can have on family life, raising the question of "what is normal"? The energy and skills of the actors in a clever stage setting provided non stop entertainment in one of the best musicals the Court has produced. This complimented with good service, pizza, wine and company ensured a good night out. Thank you also to the ushers who do a fantastic job.

Driven out of its home in the Arts Centre downtown by the 2011 earthquake, the theatre repurposed an old grain shed in Christchurchβs suburb of Addington to good effect. The site is off the beaten path in an industrial zone that is not welcoming on foot at night, but the venue bustles with the energy of pizza and drinks before the show, and the theatre itself is comfortable and intimate despite nearly 400 seats. I saw the rock musical Next to Normal on a Saturday night. Not sold out, it was well staged and acted, and the words could mostly be heard over the music. An enjoyable evening despite a difficult theme.

Didn't enjoy the show Appropriate much..too much yelling and arguing and the themes on the show didn't really engage me. The actors were very good though We had good seats and had a good view of the stage

Court Theatre never disappoints and always pulls best productions in the city and undoubtedly in entire country. Well hidden and not easy to find, located in its temporary location in back alley of Addington, but totally worth the effort. Been coming here regularly for the past five years and all the productions are always world class. Actors are great and giving their best, pulling fantastic performances. Although location is only temporary , you donβt notice that at any moment - absolutely everything the stage, lighting and sound is really good and better than in many other theatres. From the moment you enter the building you will be greeted by warm smile of manager of or one of staff and it gives that nice and cozy atmosphere. As much as Iβm happy for Court moving to its new location, this one has certainly its charm as well. Keep doing great work!
