By far the best hiking equipment store in CC. Needed to buy lots of stuff to begin my travel in NZ so looked around all the stores in the City Center and in Tower Junction before the purchase. They had the best gear by far, with reasonable prices, and highly professional and friendly staff.
Marcus supplied us with basic climbing gear. We arrived knowing nothing. He explained what we needed, supplied it, demonstrated how to set it up and how to use it. We left adequately kitted out and confident about how to use it. Brilliant. Thanks Marcus. Take a bow. We hope you get a raise.
I don't often leave reviews, but have been shopping here for all my family tramping needs for the past year or so. The point of difference has always been the staff, particularly on my last visit where I was helped for around an hour with a repair by the young red-haired girl with tattoos (unsure of name sorry)- it was the most honest and genuine service I have ever recieved in a retail setting. Good old-fashioned integrity keeps us coming back!
Outstanding store. They carry some quality gear and brands, and have a wide selection. Top notch staff too - Jess helped me pick out a new pack, and Zed (I think?) gave me a jump when silly me left my lights on and ended up with a flat battery in the carpark! Definitely somewhere I will continue to shop.
Generally very good outdoor shop. I’d describe it as between specialist and mainstream. Higher quality gear than if you went to a mainstream store but there would be things you’d struggle to find for more advanced adventures
The staff were very helpful and patient as I was looking for a particular sized backpack. I purchased one and took it home but returned with it a week later to see if next size up would be better. They were very good and exchanged and refunded me the additional with ease.

After going to other outdoor stores with no assistance from the staff I decided to go to this place. Very pleased I did, as soon as you walk in the door you are greeted and asked if you need assistance, sure enough I spent my money here and am very happy with my purchase
Great selection of products however products are quite high in price which I guess is made up for in the quality. Helpful knowledgeable staff.
