   Always get the best service, help & advice here. Nothing is too much trouble. Can easily get help to lift heavy bags of potting mix/ compost into my car which i greatly appreciate. I live close to new mega in Brougham but prefer Ferrymead

   Updated review: Their customer service really is awesome. Excellent communications and professional, with a genuine desire to make it right. I bought a bag of Yates cactus mix which was completely different from how it usually is (I've been using it for a decade). They immediately replied and said they would refund and replace it, and also open the new bag in front of me. Unfortunately the new bag was the same - they opened several - then said Yates must have changed it's formula. The new stuff is very fine, not good for cacti at all. So they also gave me for free a bag of chunky pumice to mix in. I am totally satisfied with this result and their excellent customer service. The only sad thing is if Yates has chnaged their mixture I will have to find another brand! I am very curious to find out if this is true - I think it will annoy a lot of cactus/succulent enthusiasts if so. Anyhow this is not Mitre 10's fault. I'll continue shopping there happily.

   I dropped into Ferrymead Mitre10 to buy a replacement rangehood. I wandered into kitchens and Lilly was working on something at the computer, but looked up from her work to ask if I needed help. I showed her the rangehood I had been looking at (the website noted it as low stock) and Lilly checked stock levels on the computer, then ran off and brought my item back to me on a trolley. All I had to do was pay and I was sorted once again. Such great, friendly service!! Thank you for your hard work!!

   Love shopping there. But when asking for advice, you do get a very mixed ability with knowledge. Everything from do you have different compost avail, to what would be a good Mitre saw to use. I do wish Ferrymead was all still under one roof. It is a bit annoying to have to do more than one transaction because you move between departments. But on the whole really enjoy shopping there.

   Third time in a row I’ve received a load of wet firewood, among many other times it has been wet in the past. This is with loads of hot mix and pine. I’d like to say I’d go elsewhere from now on but often I am forced to stick with local sourced firewood for various reasons.

   Two great recent experiences here. I wanted to get a new electric lawnmower and line trimmer a couple of months ago. Had looked online and thought I had identified a good fit for us; the lovely guy in power gardening knew the stock super well, talked me through the options and encouraged me to look at a slightly cheaper set and explained he thought it would be better due to local parts availability etc. No mansplaining at all - just seemed to genuinely know and enjoy helping. The lawnmower and line trimmer are brilliant - I'm stoked with them. Last week Grant in the trade section was brilliant helping me get a solution for my garage shelving - again super polite, no mansplaining and helpful (and the fit is perfect, thanks Grant).

   I love this home store. My son has autism and can't handle loud noises and they even have noise cancelling hearing protectors that look funky and wonderful and don't make him look out of place. They are not the standard orange but a fluro green. They have everything here and a very knowledgable staff who will help and have advice on everything in store. And there is an awesome little play area.
