   Truly Grateful for Their Kindness and Outstanding Seẻvice. I genuinely want to share my gratitude for this shop and encourage more customers to use their service because they are truly kind and trustworthy people. I actually wanted to write this review back in mid-October, but life got very busy with many things happening at the same time, and I was also preparing for my trip to Vietnam to visit my family. Here is my story: They have changed the oil for my car a few times before, and every single time I was very happy with both the price and the quality of their service. Last year, when my car was due for an oil change, the shop was temporarily closed, so I had to go somewhere else. When they reopened, I was genuinely happy and planned to return when my next service was due. One Friday afternoon in mid-October, around 4:30pm, while driving home after picking up my daughter from Tower Junction, I suddenly felt the car getting extremely hot even though the A/C was on. The temperature gauge kept jumping up and down. At that moment, I immediately thought of Riccarton Oil Change and drove straight there instead of going home. As soon as I stopped the car, two guys walked out with very serious faces. I didn’t understand what was happening, so I quickly got out to explain the situation — and only then I saw smoke coming out from the engine. They immediately opened the bonnet to check and told me, “Sorry, we can’t help with this. You need a mechanic.” They warned me not to drive the car anymore because it was dangerous, and they even drove my car inside the shop for safety. It was already 5pm, but they were still incredibly helpful and calm. The next day, my husband came by to arrange towing the car home because the mechanic’s appointment was one week away. But once again, these guys showed amazing kindness — they told us to just leave the car at the shop and that they would help tow it to the mechanic for us. And they really did. On the exact appointment day, they towed my car all the way to the garage without asking for ANY payment at all, not even the towing fee. Their kindness truly touched me. In a world where people are often too busy to care, they chose to help without expecting anything in return. I sincerely recommend their service to anyone. They are honest, caring, and absolutely deserve the support of our community. Thank you again for everything — I am truly grateful.

   I brought my car here for an oil change and was told the previous shop had overtightened the drain bolt. However, when I went to do my own oil change afterward, I discovered the same issue — the bolt had been cranked down so tightly it was nearly impossible to remove. On top of that, the bolt head was starting to look rounded. There is absolutely no reason for this. It shows carelessness and a lack of professionalism. If I’m paying for an oil change, I expect the work to be done properly, not made harder (and potentially damaging) for the next time. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.

   Am not sure if the same staff work here but I went to them once in 2019. They were friendly staff at first so was pleased they changed the oil in good time. Had to go back to work so didn't think to check it over. That night on my drive home, the engine blew up. AA man said the lid for tank had come off. Towed car to closest mechanic. Had to replace the engine. Very stressful & expensive. Contacted Oil Changers Riccarton to confirm they were the last to see the engine before it got damaged. The first staff member said he did work on it. Then another staff member took the phone & in a snappy tone denied doing anything wrong. If its the same staff then who are still there now, I do not recommend going here. The snappy staff members behavior was dissappointing & disgusting. Very Distrustful & Selfish ...But I've just learnt that they have changed ownership mid-2020.I realise I had held myself back from posting such a review for too long. But even if this review is irrelevant to the current staff & owners it is still a review. I only hope the current staff & owners are better

   Make sure to check prices before getting the service, it shuffles quickly. Will think twice before visiting them again. I was about to pay for the service as advertised but was asked to wait. I wasn’t told that it’ll attract any extra price. When it was over, was told to pay extra $18. (This should’d been done earlier).

   Great service from the team. The oil and transmission fluid change was quick and easy. The bloke at the front desk was easy to talk to and knew his stuff. He didn't pressure me into more expensive options. Very happy
