My Whanau and I live locally and have frequently come here over the last 13 years. Our most recent visit was just last week and to our delight we discovered they now have a cold plunge pool. A new thing for me and I have to say I loved it. We are very fortunate to have these pools at the base of Mauao and the residents card makes it affordable for us as a family. Clean facilities.

Awesome spot for a dip just know the hotpools are saltwater so make sure to take a shower afterwards and drink lots of water to avoid dehydration and passing out in them as they can get very hot in the heat of the day. Otherwise they are really relaxing and a great way to spend an afternoon.

Yes!! Go here! We were down from Auckland, and just turned up on a weekday. Parking was a little hard to find but we got one eventually. Only thing I would recommend is booking for a massage etc before you arrive. We didn’t and I missed out but that’s nobody’s fault except my own, the website clearly states we need to book :) kids loved it, as did hubby and I. I’ll be back for my massage next year !

I would go here again if I could! The hot pools are so nice and relaxing. Really good for the muscles and the body. The water is very salty so don't accidentally drink it haha. The pool is big as it is kinda split into 2 areas. One hot and other one cold. There is also a spa thingy where the water is bubbling, super hot and relaxing. Keep in mind that there might be a lot of children so make sure to be careful!

Excellent hot pools with a fabulous view of Mount Maunganui. We went just before the school holidays so was quiet enough. Lots of space for lots of people. Shower and toilet facilities super clean. Different pool temperatures to suit what you like. We used the cooler pool to swim/ play games and the warmer pools to just chill. Drinking water available too as you can get easily dehydrated. Lovely staff and helpful. We used the private pool too for 30 minutes that was very relaxing. Definitely worth a visit!!

We recently visited Mount Hot Pools and overall, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. While there were a couple of areas that fell short of expectations, there were also some standout features that made the experience worthwhile. One aspect that didn't quite meet my expectations was the water temperature. I had assumed that the pools would be hotter, given the name "Hot Pools." However, the water wasn't as hot as I had anticipated. This was a bit disappointing as I was looking forward to a more indulgent and relaxing soak. Another downside was the overcrowding. The pools were incredibly busy, to the point where it was challenging to move freely. It would have been more enjoyable if there was more space available to comfortably navigate between the pools without feeling cramped. On the positive side, the view of Mount Maunganui from the pools was absolutely stunning. The sight of the majestic mountain in the background added a beautiful touch to the overall experience. Additionally, the showers and facilities were clean and well-maintained, which was greatly appreciated. In summary, while the water temperature and the overcrowding were drawbacks, the breathtaking view of Mount Maunganui and the cleanliness of the showers were definite highlights. If you're willing to overlook the slight disappointments, Mount Hot Pools can still provide an enjoyable experience. Just be prepared for the possibility of crowds during your visit.

Great collection of naturally heated salt water pools for a soak after a walk up the Mount. Pools all feel clean and fresh and range in temperature from about 34 to 39. Change and toilet facilities are good and feel clean. Parking (limited) is available for free outside the front entrance. Cost is $20 per adult.
