I went and purchased clothes I had seen on line. Sales person George in the Christchurch branch was very helpful. He made shopping for men's clothes at Barkers enjoyable. He was very helpful with sizing. One item not in stock, he had it shipped with no issues. Could not fault the service.
I have just attended this store. On entering I asked where the jackets were located. The young girl had no idea where they were until I pointed at one on display. Then she confirmed they were upstairs. I went upstairs and asked for some assistance the sales girl was just as knowledgeable. I was going to purchase a summer jacket, trouser, shirt and shoes for a wedding I am attending. The two sales people had no idea especially the sales girl upstairs who also had no enthusiasm to make the sale. I think my purchase would have been $800+. I walked out feeling neither sales person wanted to know or wanted the sale. As stated in the film Pretty Woman “Big mistake”. Let’s hope the next Barkers do better. If I could rate this nil stars I would.
Beautiful new out lay of the store .
Lisa is an absolute Gem. Myself and 4 groomsmen showed up at short notice towards the end of the workday to try on suits. We expected a quick "How do you, buy that one", but we instead ended up getting hours of Lisa's time, as she helped us with all of our questions around styling, pricing and rushed back and forth finding other options to suit the style we wanted. She was a great laugh the whole time and incredibly patient with the ordering process, arranging a split order between here and Dunedin to better suit (haha) our different locations. Super easy to pick ChCH Central barkers as our wedding suit location, highly recommend

Terrible customer service at the Barkers The Crossing. We went to this store at the weekend to look at suits, there was no customer at the time we went to the 1st floor, but the black guy (working in the shop) completely ignored us without having any greetings. Maybe he thought we were tourists-looking and couldn't afford buying Bakers. He's not only 'dark' but must also be 'blinded'. Both us wore Burberry shirts and Moncler pants, while I was also carrying my Coach bag. There were three locals came after us, the black guy immediately greeted them and asked if they needed any help. I normally don't judge people on their skin, but this time I was very disappointed; and of course I would not spend 500+ bucks in this store for ignorance. Shame on the black guy!!!

Good buying. Extremely helpful woman in store whom allowed me to near dismantle their displays to try things on. And made sure I was signed up as a customer to get the existing customer discount. Walked out very happy with my purchase and will return.
