Our child has just moved up to Shark. We love the fact that the coaches really teach good techniques--yes, it is apparent once you see the child swims with other kids. What started out as just a weekend routine has turned into a very highly useful and enjoyable sessions for our child. The support staff are also very helpful.
Very well run. Super organised with a great team of coaches. Brilliant and super recommend. We moved from QE2 lessons as we weren't seeing improvement and in only a short few weeks our 3 kids have come leaps and bounds. Anyone thinking about a change - do it! You won't regret it
Went to swim lengths. Good clean pool. Push button showers, good temperature but no soap supplied. I went mid week mid day, and I did not have to share a lane, but most lanes were in use. Premium price in comparison to the public pool.
The best swim school in Christchurch. My boys have progressed so much from weekly lessons at Aquagym. The facilities are easily accessible with free parking. The staff are super professional and friendly. living in New Zealand I want my boys to be strong swimmers and this place definitely prepares them.
For a $10 entry fee it is quite a poor service for adult lane swimming. There were no showers in one of the changing rooms and the other one had just two with no hooks for a towel
Love aqua gym! My daughter has been swimming here since 3 months old in January 2020. The preschool swim teachers are fantastic.
I was visiting Christchurch and found this place when looking for a pool that offered lap swimming. This was probably the noisiest pool I’ve ever been to (there were probably over a hundred elementary age school kids each time I visited), but AquaGym did a great job of keeping the younger kids in a smaller pool, the older kids/teens in a separate section, and the lap swimmers in their own area. I visited in the mornings between 9-12, and the lap swimming lanes were pretty empty and I always had a lane to myself. The pool itself was very clean, the water temperature was great for lap swimming, and the staff were very friendly. Day pass for lap swimming cost $10 NZD. Docking one star bc the locker rooms were crazy crowded with little kids (they really should have a separate locker room with showers/changing area for adults and kids) and they didn’t have any lockers where you could securely store your things (they had open cubbies by the pool). Overall, very pleased with this pool and highly recommend for anyone looking for a good place to go lap swimming.
I went to Aqua Gym for a swimming test recently. The girls (Jenna, Gabe, Nell and Jordan) were super friendly and being supportive.Their encouragements have boosted up my confidence with my swimming skills. Thank you ladies.
This place is amazing. Their learn to swim programme runs like a well oiled machine. I love the pay by the month system, rather than by the term. It meant that my child could move up a class when the instructors thought he was ready, rather than waiting until the end of the term. Great instructors and there are people always watching the children's progress.
