   I can HIGHLY recommend The Academy to anyone wanting professional, high quality dance & performing arts tuition. My daughter has danced there for 10 years (8 of those years when it was Gillian Moore, and The Academy director was her very first dance teacher!), and we are incredibly proud to be part of this school. I have only ever seen kind, supportive, constructive encouragement - they create a sense of belonging. The teachers care deeply about their students and go above & beyond to create an inclusive, safe environment. It is impossible to cater to the individual needs of every dancer, but they go out of their way trying!

   I have trained at The Academy for the last 9 years. TA is my home and the amazing teachers make a wonderful environment that feels like a family and a community I can count on to always make me smile. I look forward to spending every evening at TA assisting with younger kids classes, taking my own and making friendships that will last a lifetime. The teachers at TA are so supportive and kind, they ensure that every class is run to a high standard and makes sure that everyone feels supported and included. After moving from Wellington, The Academy was recommended to me by my ballet teacher also a top RAD examiner in NZ, and it couldn't have been a better decision. I love my TA family and wouldn't trade it for anything!

   I danced at the Academy for 10 years, through my years dancing the Academy became much more than just an afterschool activity, but a family and community that helped shape me to the person I am today. Alongside the professional training I received from the wonderful teachers across all genres, I always felt supported and encouraged. The teachers made each class a supportive environment, ensuring everyone was learning, up- skilling but most importantly having fun. The teachers consistently catered to all skill levels, ensuring that everyone felt confident. Throughout my training, The Academy became my second home—I would spend the school day eagerly looking forward to dancing. I formed lifelong friendships there and will always cherish the memories I made. If you are looking for a place for your child to not only dance but be apart of an uplifting community, The Academy is the place to go.

   We are really proud of both our daughters being part of The Academy family. We have been with the studio for 6 years and have seen the hard work, passion and dedication from all the teachers throughout our time here and during the transition of ownership from Gillian Moore School of Dance. The teachers really bring out the strengths and confidence in our girls and they have made some amazing friendships and continue to be inspired and supported by their teachers the senior students. We absolutely love being part of The Academy and look forward each year to the incredible show that is choreographed by the talented teachers. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this dance school and would recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive dance community.

Not only developing in their dancing but the way in which the teachers encourage our children to grow in confidence, discipline, a sense of self and personal responsibility.
