   I engaged Ewan Eggleston after being granted Legal Aid for my ongoing Family Court matter. From the start, I made it clear that my case was fully covered under a Legal Aid grant, and all documentation confirming this was provided to his office. Despite this, Mr Eggleston attempted to require an additional private payment of $5,000 before proceeding — on top of the approved Legal Aid funding. I found this highly inappropriate, as it placed me in a position where I was being asked to personally fund work already covered by Legal Aid. When I questioned this and asked for clarification in writing, I received no clear response or justification. As someone already approved for Legal Aid, I felt this conduct was unethical, misleading, and financially pressuring. Legal Aid exists to ensure access to justice for people who cannot afford private fees — not to be used as leverage to extract additional payments. I have since raised a formal complaint with the New Zealand Law Society and Legal Aid Services. In my experience, I cannot recommend Mr Eggleston’s services for anyone seeking transparent, fair, and legally compliant representation under a Legal Aid grant.

   I am business man that had a child some one never know and i found my self in the court thinking that lawyer is ok however after watching closely i found that the lawyer was representing me had no idea about family court so after a few discussion i fired the lawyer ,after engaging with some other law firm i learned more about the family court which was not my intention but i felt like I had to so i search for a best family court lawyer and i came a cross with Mr Ewan and i reliese that he is completely different lawyer than 2 before so i decided to go a head with him and i am very pleased that i did .this man is a legion .he knows what he is doing and on to it ,i suggest you to listen to his advise so you will get the best information and represent from him ,i am a very successful business man and i could not believe the drama that my son's mother created to black mail me and excuses and this man did not allowed that,thank you very much for great job ,

   Considering our situation was far from great, our overall experience with Ewan and his team was very positive. We found him very attentive and he always had our best interests at heart. Yes, Ewan does cost more but that is the price you pay for the best and for a lawyer with that amount of experience and knowledge. After a long battle the ultimate result was a positive one for us so we are very grateful to have had Ewan support us through this time. Thanks Ewan and team!
