   My experience at this school was deeply disappointing, and I left feeling unprepared for life after Year 13. The lack of meaningful support for students was evident, with only a few teachers, such as Gayla Bundle, showing genuine care and understanding. Sadly, most other staff seemed disengaged, leaving many of us to navigate our challenges on our own. Favoritism was also a significant issue. Certain students, particularly those with connections to the board or staff, were often given more recognition and opportunities. For the rest of us, it felt nearly impossible to be seen or valued. The school’s culture made it even harder. It was cliquey and exclusive, leaving little room for anyone to find their place if they weren’t already part of a group. This created a sense of isolation for many students, making it hard to feel like we belonged. The priorities of the school also felt misplaced. There was more focus on enforcing minor rules than addressing bigger issues like bullying. While students always found ways to break the rules, bullying was often ignored, leaving lasting harm on those affected. On top of this, our year group missed out on many of the camps and activities we had been promised earlier in our schooling. These were canceled or prohibited, taking away the opportunities that were meant to shape some of our most memorable moments. By the time I graduated, I didn’t feel ready for the future, and I know many of my peers felt the same. The lack of support, fairness, and opportunities left us unprepared and disappointed in an experience that should have been one of growth and inspiration.

   Katikati college is a good school but the teacher just brings it down it hurts going to that school if I could do anything I would leave and never come back
