We've been coming to Hornby vet for well over 10 years (birds, dogs - specfically pugs) and we love them. The staff are kind and knowledgeable and dont make me feel silly for asking questions (and i do like to ask questions) or worrying. They sent us a card when our beloved dog passed away at the after hours this year and several months later they still chat to us about her and remember her personality! Just fantastic people who aren't pushy and I've never felt taken advantage of when it comes to suggested services or prices.
The team is caring and compassionate, and they really take the time to get to know the pets they treat. It feels like a family-style service where you and your pet are genuinely cared for, not just another appointment.
Had been treated well in the past but was disgusted when we had our first lockdown, my dog developed a large lump in its stomach, I rang Hornby Vet for advice on what to do during lockdown if I need to bring my dog in, they said wait 24 hours and see how he is and maybe organize bringing him down the next day, the phone call was less than 5 minutes, 20 minutes later I'm called back and told I would be charged for that call as a consultation. $60, for a 5 minute phone call!!, legally I should have been told prior of any charge, i seeked advice, it was not a consultation, a stressful and anxious time my dogs crook, the unknown of covid, and they take advantage by an excessive fee of $60 for 5 minutes call. Disgusting. I now see the fantastic team at West Melton Vets.
We went here to get our kitten spayed after a bad experience at another vet clinic. These vets and staff are amazing! Showed a lot of care for our kitten and communicated well. We were provided with clear instructions on what to do after her procedure and were booked in a few days later for a follow up appointment. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent vet. Took our workshop cat straight away, as she was in pain. Sorted the problem and returned her same day. Friendly staff, nothing was a problem. Can thoroughly recommend them.
I've had several cats over the years that have suffered from chronic illnesses, and with that, I've come to know many vets and clinics over that time! Hornby is a wonderful clinic as they can do such a lot on site which saves time and stress for both pet and owner! Emily is an incredible vet, by far the best I've taken my cats to. She has a nearly mystical knack for picking up on symptoms and zooming in on potential issues. My Millie has long been a very very complicated case, but Emily has always taken great care (and often gone the extra mile) to explore options and support both Millie and I on our journey. And Andrew, there is no vet that is more tender with an animal. He has an enormous heart and one of the first questions he always asks me is "how has she been, is she happy?" which is something that means such a lot and shows both Emily and Andrew have a wonderfully balanced approach to caring for animals.
