I recently saw Dr Jenkins. She was very thorough and I was very grateful to be squeezed in. I felt very heard which is what I look for

We phoned this morning from Katikati to see with we could bring our two sick kid's in with a bad cough and flu like symptoms. The receptionists said that we could bring them in and see a doctor and also register at the clinic. After driving in heavy rain for 40min to see a doctor they said we can only register today and they don't do walk-in at this centre. The receptionist was very rude and disrespectful to us all and couldn't care less about us coming in from Katikati and even phoning ahead. She told us to go to second Avenue in Tauranga, they do walk-in and will help. Useless bunch of people working in these clinic's nowadays. I'm Discussed by our medical centres and clinics in this country nowadays. No professional help or service anymore. It's bloody hard work with young children and trying to get medication for them and seeing a Specialist. We were in Perth Australia last month and had to see a doctor and they have an excellent range of services and doctors to help you. Very professional ok.

This place is great if while you are feeling sick you would also like to ring somewhere to be patronised by a receptionist who doesn't actually know what they are talking about. "You clearly did not read the instructions," she said. But I've reread the instructions multiple times and not found the infomation she claims is there (which, even if it was there, would've contridicted the information I received from an actual nurse). The instructions themselves look like a dog's-breakfast, so they are not exactly easy to follow (being poorly formatted, and with words cut off at the margins). A lot of people will struggle with them, and then if they ring for clarification I'm sure they will be made to feel stupid as she tried (unsuccessfully) to do to me. When I said, that I'd didn't understand the need for her patronising attitude, she did apologise, but in the most disingenuous tone she could possibly put on. I do understand that people working in the health sector are particularly stressed at the moment. And I could understand if she was just impatient with me. But being stressed is not an excuse to talk down to people. As a receptionist she is the face of the organisation. Her absolute minimum requirement as a customer service representative is to be polite to the customers (especially when I had given her no reason to act otherwise, until I actually challenged her childish behavour).

Im not one to review places but felt I should after an absolutely rude interaction this morning with the reception. I simply asked what appointments were available and was responded to with a rude narrative about how they are to busy “ABSOLUTELY NOT! NO NO NO!” she said. A simply “sorry, we can’t take any clients at the moment as we are fully booked” would have sufficed.

A lovely little practice. The receptionist knows not only my name but my partners name and my children's names as well. You are not just a number. The Doctors and nurses are so gentle, caring and very professional. Highly recommended.
