Whoever was your driver that was at Z Rolleston on Friday 5 December at 2:15am deserves a raise. My and my my friend was sitting down eating a pie and the truck driver came up to us and had a chat asking about o ur day and all which was an amazing thing to do. The friendliness is exactly what this company should have and that guy showed it.

I know there are a few not so great reviews and thats understandable but as I rely on reviews for other things, I felt it was only fair to share my personal experience with Booths, which was very good. For reference, I submitted a quote online, got a response back in less than a day. It was fairly priced though that wasn't my deciding factor (as yes, I had seen the reviews). But in my opinion Booth's was the best equipped to offload a heavy item from start to finish to a residential address. I accepted the quote and they handled the rest. Pickup was in Christchurch (longhaul) - delivered to the Te Awamutu branch and then on to me in Hamilton (in a smaller truck - which was great). Given it is December, the process was efficient and I couldn't actually fault it. The man who eventually delivered my large stone item phoned ahead and was friendly and helpful at delivery. From pickup in Chch to Ham, delivery took 5 days. For reference: I will say that it helped that the sending address had used Booths before so that probably made pickup more seamless. My item was heavy (700kg) and to some degree fragile so it was well packaged before pickup. I recall freighting another item - via Booths a few years ago and that was a good experience too so yes based on both those occasions, I would be happy to use them again.

Very poor experience with Booths Transport. It took two weeks to receive my order from Auckland. I received messages saying it would be delivered on 30th October and again on 4th November, but when I called both times, I was told it hadnβt even left Auckland. After several follow-up calls, I was told on 7th November that they had finally found my order and it would be delivered on Monday, 10th November. I was also told the driver would call before delivery β but that never happened. Overall, very frustrating and unprofessional service. Would not recommend.

I contacted this company today to speak with a manager after a serious incident involving one of their delivery drivers. When the driver arrived at my business to drop off a delivery, he appeared to be either intoxicated or under the influence of something. He was shouting and swearing loudly in front of my clientsβusing repeated profanityβand then nearly reversed his truck into one of my staff memberβs cars. I immediately called the company and asked to speak to a manager. I was told they were in a meeting and would call me back, but I never received any follow-up. After an incident as serious as this, I find the lack of response and accountability from management unacceptable. It shows a concerning absence of leadership and responsibility within the company. I had hoped to resolve this directly and quietly, but since thereβs been no contact from management, Iβll be informing the sender of this delivery about the courier companyβs conduct. Itβs extremely disappointing to see such behaviour go unchecked. A simple phone call back would have gone a long way toward showing that this business takes customer safety and professionalism seriously

Unsafe driver, ohs is abysmal. Driver refused to take unsafe pallets back to yard to get restacked, threatened if he takes them back he isn't delivering them back, forced us into moving them and threatening to up the charge on delivery if we didn't hurry up. Ended having to restack on our site as they collapsed on first lifts. Driver had to climb into truck to re-stack untethered, driver wanted to drop sack from truck to ground. Pallets also bulging out of the curtain side.

Superb service by the team. First time customer (and won't be the last!). Their rates are far cheaper than Mainf*****t. Got 2 pallets from Auckland to Christchurch, took 3 days, incredible! Seems after seeing their Google reviews, they've had some changes in their team, and definitely excellent service. One slight thing was, despite having tracking number, there was no email updates on the tracking (comparing them to a far more expensive trucking company). But for speed, value and service, A+. Thanks team

The world's worst freight company. Took possession of an antique dresser shipped to me in late September and advised I would receive it the following Tuesday or Wednesday (27/9 or 28/9). I rang a few days later enquiring about the status and they told me it had been delivered, which was definitely not the case. After "weeks of searching" they have been unable to locate the antique dresser. At each stage, I've had to chase them for an update via email and phone, and every time someone is out or busy - it's clear that a lost item that cannot be replaced is not their priority. I'd recommend using their service if perhaps you hate the person you are freighting the item to.

Can't comment on the company, but the drivers are overly aggressive. Driver started waving rude gestures before cutting myself and other road users off in a roundabout.

In Feb 2018 I was being driven into Queenstown by family, at a vineyard near the Kawarau gorge a line of stand still traffic had built up in both directions because of some poor choices of a driver in front. Out of no-where a Summerland Transport truck & trailer flew past us from behind at appx 70kph + on the inside transitioning from the tarseal to very un-even grass/shingle verge. The driver got the truck under control and successfully stopped it. Once the traffic started to move we pulled up next to the driver to check if he was ok, he was & he was very professional. He informed us that something had broken in his brake pedal. We thanked him very much for his control of the vehicle. For all involved that day it was very clear that had the truck hit us we all would have been dead. We have that Summerland Transport driver's professional driving skill to thank, he risked his own life to save the lives of those in the line of traffic. If you're reading this you know who you are, so thank you. If it weren't for you I wouldn't be here today writing this. I wish you and your family all the best :)
