Overall a good experience up until year 5. Huge area. However after year 5 you notice that teachers don't understand how to deal with bullies or any kids for that matter. Everyone swears tonnes, makes dirty jokes, have no respect for other students or teachers, and the most they get is a 2 day suspension. I've seen kids assault teachers and swear at them. Bathrooms and other facilities like classrooms and pool changing rooms are old and in a terrible state, with the only 2 buildings that have been updated at all being for the intermediates and new entrants. They waste money on field trips for the prefects and logo redesign. They refuse to update buildings and areas that have recently been deemed earthquake prone, instead blocking those areas off. 2 years later they are still blocked off. Before I left people were constantly wondering wether they should switch schools when it came to intermediate, and many did. My friends who still go there say bullying has gotten worse, wishing they left when they had the chance. One of my friends became depressed and even suicidal because of the terrible student management and left the next year. They keep revising subjects and rarely teach us new things, plus more intellegent students are stuck with the easy work everyone else has to do. So coming to the end of my review, it's good. But only up until a certain point, then I recommend leaving as soon as possible.
