I love Ado Hair Salon, I always get a great cut and style, the staff are all warm and friendly. They serve tea or coffee while you are getting your hair cut. The salon is a very nice environment to visit. Most of all after being a nervous recipient of hair cuts my whole life I am now confidant of a great cut every time. I always see Jason and he spends time on my hair and I never feel rushed through.

I came in to see Mara after an awful experience at another salon which resulted in a very questionable looking haircut. I was a little panicked as it was my pre-wedding haircut but Mara was so kind, understanding and lovely to deal with and did everything she could to fix my hair. Her knowledge and patience was so reassuring and I absolutely will be booking in to see her again for all future haircuts :)

I’ve been going to Ado hair for all my hair services for a few years. Mara is amazing at what she does and always is very honest with her recommendations for my hair. I always walk out feeling so impressed by the beautiful work she does on my hair and get asked by many people who I get my hair done from. Huge thanks to Terina and Mara for being the best duo at Ado Hair and giving the best service always! Highly highly recommended ☺️✨

I went in to get my hair done for a wedding. First time getting in done in years. Had virgin hair so it was healthy, and the easiest hair to work with. I sent through inspiration photos prior, and explained I wanted honey blonde hair and for it to be really blended out on the roots. Came out with grey uneven streaky hair. After a day i called up to express how unhappy I was especially because i had wedding to attend that Saturday. They booked me in for Friday (even though my first appointment was early in the week) and I accepted even though it was only a day before the wedding. Took the day off work then an hour out from the appointment they said the colourist is sick. I said is there anyone else who can do it and they said “no it has to be the same colourist”. I explained that it was urgent as I had a wedding to go to the next day and they were dismissive. I was charged $256 and my hair was completely ruined. Tried emailing them to resolve this, and their compensation? 50% off on my next hair cut. I said I wouldn’t be returning as this whole experience has been terrible. They ended up ignoring my emails, despite trying to follow up on multiple occasions and resolve this some other way. Had to spend another $150 to fix it at another salon. I would have been happy if there was some compensation, and tried to resolve this without having to do a review, but the way they responded was arguably worse than what they did to my hair. An FYI, they do NOT do refunds unless they have done irreversible damage to your hair. Next salon I went to were shocked at how damaged and fragile my hair was as it was virgin hair and only one session of bleach (I have had my hair bleached before. There are so many other things that went wrong like how the stylist let the apprentice do the majority of the work despite not charging apprentice rates, and how my hair was so damaged that I couldn’t get what I wanted at the next salon cause a do did such a terrible job. Would not recommend, really would hate for anyone else to get the same results and unprofessional treatment. Have attached inspiration photos I sent to them before the appointment and at the appointment vs what I got. Edit to Ados response: 1. No plan was put past me for two or three sessions. Had that been the case I would have gone elsewhere. As that’s never been the case at other salons I’ve gone to. That also means I would have been charged nearly $800 which I wouldn’t do. 2. I didnt “paise the stylist” infact I asked if the silver would go away (it didn’t) 3. There was a tone of damage done to my hair. The next salon even said they are shocked at how dried out and damaged it was after one set of foils. They also explained that there was breakage so couldn’t add anymore highlights. 4. The work was faulty because it had to be fixed. The grey streaks were uneven and I had a big chunk of grey in my hair which the next stylist said I’ll have to grow out.

I recently had a do at ADO Hairdressers in Tauranga! These folks are on a mission to make you look like a superstar, and they definitely delivered. At ADO, the team draw inspiration from all over the world to give you a one-of-a-kind, wearable, and oh-so-artistic hairstyle that perfectly suits your hair texture, face shape, complexion, lifestyle, and even your personality. It's like having your own personal glam squad! Their haircuts are like a fashion-forward masterpiece with a sprinkle of magic, custom-made to meet your unique requirements. They're like the Picasso of hairdos, blending their precise hairdressing techniques with the hottest fashion trends of today, tomorrow, and beyond. But here's the best part: these guys really listen to you. I mean, they lean in so close, you'd think they're trying to hear your innermost hair desires. They genuinely care about understanding your needs as a client, and they know exactly how to translate your vision into a fabulous hairstyle. It's like mind-reading, but with scissors and combs! If you're in Tauranga and craving a hair transformation, I can't recommend ADO Hairdressers enough. They'll make you feel like a VIP, and you'll walk out of there with a look that's worth a red carpet moment. Trust me, you'll be turning heads left and right, and your hair will thank you for the royal treatment. So go ahead and treat yourself to a dose of ADO magic – they'll have you feeling like a million bucks in no time!

I was recommended Jason at this salon by my partner who speaks highly of it so I booked online with Jason only to be told later as a new client Jason didn’t have sufficient time for my requested service. I think that’s very disappointing. A.DO can do great hairstyling but not so much for customer care.

Yesterday Mara cut my hair. Amazing. She understood my concerns and what I hoped could be achieved. She did it just right. I am delighted. Thank you so much Mara - you are the best.
