Failed my first attempt, nonetheless I was given clear feedback and came back the following week to pass. Didn’t have to wait in a single queue and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely reccomend VTNZ for a WOF!

Amazing experience! Drove straight in and was greeted by such a happy mechanic team and the friendly reception staff. I was sent to a young girl who was still in training, and she greeted me with such positivity. She went through my documents so quickly and efficiently, which was impressive considering she’s only been there for a week, she’s already picking things up so easily! I wish her all the very best at VTNZ. A big thank you also to the other young girl who helped my daughter with some theory. My daughter had never felt so comfortable, and it made such a difference. Definitely recommend VTNZ, the team is supportive, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Horrible service from the pregnant lady, horrible attitude, meanwhile the other ladies were amazing. I get it , everyone isnt a people person but do not apply for a job where it involves yourself being in a customer service role. She didn’t help me out but couldn’t help but overhear how she was talking to others especially people who were foreign. She is clearly not fit for the role with that manner of hers and attitude.

I don't know whether it was just my lucky day but I walked straight in and up to the counter at VTNZ. I had lost my Driver's Licence. Within approx 5 minutes flat I had a temporary licence issued, a photograph for a new licence taken and a vision test done. I walked out a happy woman.

A huge thank you to Hamish and the VTNZ team for helping our business gain a certificate of fitness for our small passenger vehicle (van). We turned up on a day with their team down a person and really busy. It was our first time applying for the certificate, which meant more work than normal but they managed to squeeze us in. Unfortunately we failed on a few things but Hamish was super helpful in guiding us to resolve the problems and even applied to Waka Kotahi, on our behalf, for an exemption. It took about a week to gain compliance but Hamish kept us regularly updated on progress. To save us a 3-hour return trip to complete certification, Hamish organised for us to complete our certificate of fitness check at another VTNZ location closer to our premises. Thanks team!

Had my drivers test cancelled the day of the test. When I called to re-book the test (It was automatically re-booked for several weeks away, and I wanted to get it done sooner) I waited over an hour to speak to someone just to be told I would have to go back into a different queue to speak to someone who could do the booking, and that I would be charged an administration fee. Absolutely ridiculous to charge someone a fee to rebook a test that VTNZ cancelled! When I finally did get to sit the test, I passed, but apparently didn't do very well at explaining what I was doing about hazards I had identified. When I mentioned I found that part difficult, the instructor, Gregory C, accused me of "Not having done my homework" and went on about "How frustrating it was" when people sit their test without having done a defensive driving course (I mentioned I hadn't done one in the beginning). No "Congratulations" on passing, he just went straight into having a go at me for not doing my "homework". The thing is though, I actually did a lot to prepare for this test, including practicing the hazard identification and explanation and receiving a large amount of driving lessons prior - I simply found it challenging to do under pressure, as I imagine is true for many people. There was absolutely no need for him to be so stroppy with me and accuse me of not preparing, especially given I had actually passed the test on my first attempt. Given there is no requirement for someone to have done a defensive driving course (That I couldn't afford) in order to sit their full license test, I don't see why I was berated for this. So in summary: - VTNZ Cancelled on me last minute. - Then wanted to charge me to rebook the cancelled booking. - Instructor Greg got stroppy with me after I passed and falsely accused me of not preparing. What an awful experience.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my first visit to VTNZ. The issue revolves around the rear window tint of my car. When I inquired about it, I was informed that the tint exceeded the 36% limit for rear window tinting compliance in NZ, causing the vehicle to fail the Warrant of Fitness (WOF) examination. This was surprising to me, as I have had the car for five years since importing it from Japan and have consistently followed WOF checks, renewals, and regular servicing without any previous problems. In response, I promptly removed the rear window tint on the following day. I then returned to VTNZ and endured a significant hour wait under the scorching sun. Finally, when it was my turn, I was told that the rear side window tints also needed to be removed. I pointed out to the staff member that the failure notice specifically referred to "Rear Window Tinting Limits to Comply," without any indication of additional windows or side windows. It was clear to me that this phrase referred to a single rear window, which didn't require any special interpretation. The staff member offered to remove the side window tints for me. I expressed my expectation that I shouldn't be charged for this and I understand it wasn't part of their service, however I thought it was fair as the miscommunication about the necessary actions originated from their end and so they agreed. I waited in the assigned waiting area. After a 40-minute wait, the staff member approached me with an apology regarding the miscommunication, stating that the car was now ready and had passed the WOF. To my surprise, upon inspecting the vehicle, I discovered that the staff member had removed the tint from both rear door windows but hadn't completely eliminated the glue residue. Moreover, the removal of the tint from the rear side windows was incomplete, leaving noticeable residue and ripped tint behind still on the windows. Now, returning to the issue of the 16% tint that VTNZ initially deemed non-compliant, it's disheartening to witness the inconsistency between their actions and their expectations for compliance. The lack of attention to detail and the inadequate removal of the tints indicate a lack of professionalism and competence on their part. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and unwilling to continue engaging with these inept individuals. It was distressing to navigate the motorway on my way home, as the compromised visibility through the rear side windows made it unsafe for changing lanes and monitoring passing vehicles. I hope that my feedback provides an opportunity for improvement and highlights the importance of maintaining high standards of service and communication at VTNZ.

Great place. When i came in there was no queue. Fast, friendly service with a smile. The ladies at the counter are superb. Would come back again for my next run.

Absolutely appalling, my partner has tried 3 times to get his license replaced each and every time they tell him something different, last time he had everything and was good to go but they wouldn’t accept his original birth certificate because of it being dated 1996 , after ordering a new birth certificate and waiting to go and try again with everything else he had originally taken in they’ve now said that what he brought in last time is not good enough this time. To make matters worse each time he’s spoken to someone they have been extremely rude.
