   Today I went into this shop. I had noticed some lovely dresses and had decided I wanted to buy at least 2 new ones. The lady in the shop was not very friendly when I came in, but I soon noticed some dresses on sale. She very quickly said that they were not my size and must look lower down the rack. Some dress sizes are really big and I I know which ones I can downsize in. I am usually a size 16. I found a lovely dress and wanted to try it on. She stopped me enroute to the changing room and said I could not try this dress on as it was not my size. I asked her if she was serious and she promptly took the dress out of my hands and said I would damage it. It was too small for me as I would stretch out the shirring as others have previously done. (It was a size 14) I had decided if it did not fit me (I was pretty sure it would else I would not try it on) I would buy it for my daughter. I was extremely upset, she showed no apology or remorse for her actions and I said I would report this to management. How is it possible in these times to have someone like this work in a shop of this calibre. To make someone feel they are worthless and cannot try on a dress because they feel they are too big in proportion to the norm. What she does not know is that I shop at Trellise Cooper and Augustine and am always made to feel like a million dollars. These sales ladies cannot do enough to help you find a dress you love, but above all to help you love who you are no matter size, age or color. To the shop assistant: Every day you have the privilege to empower ALL woman to feel comfortable, beautiful and strong in who they are no matter shape, size or weight. I will not shop here again and I will tell this story to all who do! Ebony you need to review who you allow to work in your beautiful shop! This is not good enough!

   Ebony Boutique is a must visit while in Waihi Beach! Beautiful store and lovely staff. Nellie made me feel so comfortable and was super helpful, felt like having my own stylist. What a top shopping experience! And love my selection of garments. Thank you!

   Staff were very friendly and helpful and I love the garments I bought. Great colours and styles to make me feel good and easy to wear. Sourcing a different size was handled well and parcel was couriered promptly even though it was right on Christmas. Thank you I’ll be back.

   Ebony at Waihi Beach is a must visit every time I am in the village. The stock is regularly turned over, the shop always clean, presentable and inviting! Nellie, the store manager is a key asset to this business. She is so welcoming, knows her product, works out very quickly what would suit you and more often than not customers leave with a bag in hand. Through her hard work I notice that Ebony has a strong community consciousness and the great brand is reflected in events they choose to be involved in. This is achieved by Nellie and her staff going beyond the call of duty. Well done!!
