STAY AWAY Disappointed and let down β€” patients deserve better I want to share my experience at Casebrook Surgery so that others are aware and hopefully do not go through what I did. I visited them several times with a clear injury, explaining my pain and repeatedly asking for proper treatment and a referral. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, I was repeatedly told to β€œjust rest” and take painkillers. Because of this lack of action, my condition became worse. What could have been addressed earlier with the right referral and investigation has now left me with ongoing pain, stress, and financial hardship. Patients go to a doctor because they trust them to guide, investigate, and refer when needed. It should not be up to the patient to beg for tests, referrals, or treatment options β€” yet that is exactly what happened to me. I felt ignored and dismissed, and the consequences have affected my life in a very real way. I hope by sharing this experience, others will be more cautious and insist on being properly heard, and that Casebrook Surgery takes this as a reminder to put patient care first. Everyone deserves to be listened to, taken seriously, and treated with respect when they seek medical help. Yet receptionists and nurses are amazing!

Do NOT go here unless you are over 65+ years old as this seems to be the only demographic they care about and seem to give appointments out to. I went here for years and only ever had 2 or 3 appointments which I felt like I had to fight tooth and nail to get- during which the doctor, Dr Goh Googled my long term medical condition and clicked the little β€œtreatment” tab on the first little blurb that popped up on Google, right in front of my face. During my appointment time. Which only ever amounted to 7 minutes at most on the rare occasion I put myself through booking an appointment at this joke of a practice. When I first enrolled, I had enrolled with a female doctor, the form had her name yet was only ever able to book with a male who thought period-related questions were too taboo and would whisper when asking them. The admin staff seem to view medical certificates as if your asking them to get the doctor to preform some extremely difficult task and usually make it extremely difficult for you to even book an appointment to get one, they push you to book a double- therefore paying more which you’ll already be doing when they force you to get a blood test through their clinic and then the prescription through their overpriced pharmacy- yet if you ask the doctor in your very small appointment time you’ll find they’ll write it up for you then and there, which is obviously a very easy task as they typically don’t spend any time doing any real doctor work during your appointments anyway. Family members who haven't had the privilege of transferring to a different practice still go here and are confronted by the same rude and uncaring admin staff who like to tell you they have no appointment slots for weeks but when you're sitting waiting over 30 minutes past the appointment time with a very sick child (an appointment which will only end up being 5 minutes with a gp tops, as that seems to be the set time the staff dedicate to anyone under the age of 65), the admin staff are able to give out triple appointment slots to any elderly folk who ask.

If I could give them no start or not seem them operating would be good! The most terrible doctors in Christchurch. My daughter has been in and out from them for a month with the same issues, and their reluctance to do any viable tests or push for further diagnostics is just ridiculous. The doctors gave one opinion out of many and just stuck with that without taking in account other concerns or requests. I have tried to speak to a manager which conveniently was not there at the time and also apparently does not have a work number. Absolutely digusted with their 3rd world service, but they do have a nice location so i guess charging 30 mins and rushing customers and saving money on other required tests pays of.. STAY AWAY FROM THEM !!!

Disappointed with Doctor's Approach at Casebrook Surgery I want to start by saying I have no issues with the staff at Casebrook Surgery, and I actually like everyone, especially the reception team who offered me 50% off my next appointment as a kind gesture today. I really appreciate that. However, I had a face-to-face appointment with Dr. Steven Alexander, and I left feeling disappointed. I went in with two health concerns, both of which I felt were connected. I briefly explained both issues to the doctor, hoping we’d address them in a timely manner. For my first concern, I was simply prescribed painkillers again something I had already been given on my previous visit, which didn’t feel like a real solution. When I brought up my second issue, Dr. Alexander told me he couldn’t help and suggested I book another appointment due to time constraints. While I understand that time can be limited, we spent a fair amount of time discussing less relevant things like "wearing comfortable shoes," when I felt that time could have been better used addressing my actual concerns. I left feeling like my issues weren’t truly heard or addressed with the empathy and attention I had hoped for. I understand doctors are busy, but I really believe empathy and genuinely engaging with patients should be a priority. I still appreciate the friendly staff, but I hope future visits can be more focused on fully addressing the health concerns at hand.

We absolutely love Casebrook Surgery! The doctors here are so knowledgeable and geniuely listen to patient concerns. In the past year I have had two major health challenges that I have had for many years quickly addressed and resolved through their thorough care and investigations. The nurses are vivacious, kind and attentive - a great for good chat while being treated too! We love the receptionists who are always quick to find us an appointment (even on the same day) and they always keep us updated about doctors timings if the doctor is delayed due to an emergency. They know my daughter by name and make her smile every time we visit. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

They push vaccines really hard here. Vaccines are causing huge health problems. My next issue is, I have repeatedly told the dr I have issues and I do not feel listened to. I could have cancer and they won’t check it out. A simple blood test would be good why is this not offered why do they literally just google your symptoms. All these doctors are good at is writing prescriptions.

Terrible service the Asian head receptionist is super judgmental and refused my elderly sick mother medical care... if ur looking to be treated as a number and also treated rudely then a quick visit to reception will make u feel terrible... Avoid this pratice!

Great when you can get an appointment. I see from another poster the manager seems to think they have a GP for emergencies but having just had a workplace injury was told by reception to go to after hours as there was nothing available for at least a week. Seems to be a disconnect between management and reception and frankly it's not the first fumble I've had from CBS reception.
