   (Honestly deserves more than 5 stars)!!!! Highly recommend! Brought my Silvia in for some mechanical work and couldn’t be happier with the service. He went above and beyond with what was needed, taking the time to make sure everything was done properly. He out sourced other companies e.g. fabricators. Because I live 2 hours away, he was even willing to drive my car around for other things that need to be done with it. Shane is so honest, reliable, and a very thorough mechanic. He also pushed to get all of this done on the day so that I could come to pick up my car without having to wait around or sort anything further out. Definitely coming back for any future work!!!!

I was in a real bind with my car's alternator belt needing immediate replacement, and despite being swamped with other tasks, Shane went above and beyond to fit me in. I had just gotten a Warrant of Fitness (WOF), but the original car shop wouldn't budge on the repairs. With time ticking against me, I was stressed about finding a solution. Shane came to the rescue right on time. He not only took on the job swiftly but also exhibited a level of professionalism that truly sets him apart. He didn't compromise on the quality of work despite the urgency, and I felt confident in his skills from the get-go. And here's the real kicker: not only did he manage to replace the alternator belt efficiently, but he also surprised me by reducing the cost from the initial quote by over 10%!    Took my car here for a service back in Nov 2021. Shane seemed like a pretty good guy & straight forward with everything as well! I asked him what my car needed and he quoted me around $950 in work, to which may have been my mistake because I didn’t know any better shrugged it off and said okay, let’s do it. However about a month later, my car started to play up. Took it back to Shane and although he tried his best, car still persisted with the issue. At the time, I may not have looked it but I was actually pretty guttered because essentially I had to get the car scrapped and picked up from his lott. I can’t help but think that that car may have still lived if I didn’t go through with the 950$ work, that was advised. Overall, Shane seems like a good chap but I think from all the time that’s passed on til now, ( you can tell I still think about it ) I feel like I got the short end of the stick. So take this how you will.

   In January I purchased a 2003 Mini Cooper s, and I ewanted to upgrade some parts including intercooler and air filter, I did some research and ordered some parts online.I’m not mechanically minded and needed some help. Shane at Platinum Automotive came highly recommend by the Auckland mini club. I went and visited him and asked him few questions and a week later Shane updated the intercooler and air filter for me. Through out the whole process Shane was professional honest and did an outstanding job, my mini absolutely hums. He will be the only one to touch my mini from now on, and will also be doing the servicing on my Subaru as well, I highly recommend him,
