Used the Botany store as a receiver for a rifle transfer, and im very disappointed they charged an extra undisclosed $50 fee for me to simply uplift from the store. I wasn't told this when arranging the transfer!! So the original $60 included arranging and booking the transfer, the cost of Aramex to collect - transit - offload, and Botany wants $50 just to hand it over... It was about 2 minutes, so $25 per minute of their precious ticket-clipping time. Demanding money / near doubling the cost AFTER a service is completed... What was I going to do?; gift them the rifle and not pay the fee? Let them hold it to ransom while I dispute it? The guy said "Its not my store" when I questioned it. I sent them an email 2 weeks ago and the only response was a weak "ill follow up with the manager", but no real reply - I suppose i'd be charged $50 for the 2 minutes it takes to respond? Do I expect a store to do a service for free? in this case, it is very little effort to sight a license and hand over a package, so yes 100% this should be a free service. When you pay $6 to a cashier at a coffee shop, you don't expect to pay another undisclosed $5 fee for the barista to hand over your coffee! I usually deal with small independent stores, so a good reminder to continue doing so - with more restrictions being imposed on firearms owners it should be a no-brainer for hunting stores to try and support their customer base. So, shout out to the good buggers like Youngs Airguns - they've been supporting the airgun / shooting community for over 40 years. Youngs Airguns does not charge you to uplift a rifle they receive on behalf - he also has a brilliant range of airguns etc. Reloaders Supplies - great little independent, i've not used them for a transfer but have always had great service there.

My daughter had a voyage to go on and they were able to kit her out with everything she needed. The quality of the gear was top notch and it did keep my daughter warm and dry. Hi five to the staff at this store

Staff in the firearms section were ok but the lady at main counter I found rude and unhelpful when I wanted to purchase my son some hiking boots. In the end I went to another store and brought some. If I make any online purchases from hunting and fishing nz I'll make sure my money isn't spent here at this branch.

Plenty of parking, went for the sale still a few items I was able to get but was towards end of sale, best to know what you want before turning up and pre enquiry if they have it or not or you may end up with extras that weren't part of budget but good investment brand wise

I recently purchased a Merino Buff from these guys, using a gift card that was purchased at the Hamilton shop. Being unable to get to Auckland, I rang them and they had to order it in specially, which only took a few days. I sent the gift card to them and they duly sent it to me WITH a nice gift by way of an apology for the delay! This was unexpected, unnecessary but totally appreciated! During the course of this transaction, I had to phone them a few times (just because of them having to order it and me having to send them the card etc) and I have to say that every staff member I spoke to was just brilliant - very helpful and absolutely customer focussed. I cannot recommend H&F Botany highly enough. Top marks! I'll be making a point of buying from them in person whenever I'm in Auckland. Sincerest thanks to the whole team. JT, Hamilton. :-)

Great customer service from the team, I highly recommend this store especially for firearm related purchases. I dealt with Peter and he answered all my questions and made the purchasing experience effortless. Can’t wait to use my new Beretta A400 Extreme plus!
