Waiheke Movers moved some very heavy antique pieces of furniture from an apartment building in the city to our home on Waiheke. It was difficult getting the large items into the apartment lift, and a challenge manoeuvring them up the exterior stairs and into the house. All four of the guys who helped were exceptional. Helpful, careful, willing and strong. They were on time and reasonably priced. Joanne provides an excellent service. We will definitely use Waiheke Movers again.

WARNING: AVOID THIS COMPANY! I tried to share my terrible experience with this company in a Facebook community group, but my post got removed because I mentioned a business, and the admin didn’t like me “speaking the truth.” Before it was taken down, a couple of people messaged me saying they’d had similar experiences, so here's my story. I used this company to move my belongings back to Waiheke, and it was a complete disaster! The person I dealt with (Joanne) was rude from the start. On the day of the move, she sent only one guy to handle the job, and he was in terrible shape—poor guy could barely lift anything. I ended up having to help him load the truck myself. Then Joanne calls me, furious, accusing me of not packing properly, even though everything was boxed up. I had initially told her I had 10 boxes, but it turned out to be more, and she was NOT happy about that. This was just before Christmas, and while I get that it’s a stressful time for everyone, apparently it's all about Joanne! She started abusing me over the phone and demanded $368, even though she had previously said payment was due once the job was complete. Because not all my stuff fit (thanks to the miscommunication about the boxes), I had to get my partner to drive over from Waiheke to pick up the rest. She had originally quoted me $150, which I was fine with, but now she’s screaming at me, threatening to dump my stuff on the street in Mt Eden if I didn’t pay. She even sent me photos of my belongings unpacked on the side of the road as blackmail! To avoid losing my things, I paid the $368. Then she tells me my stuff won’t be delivered until after New Year's, but I insisted I needed it sooner. Eventually, she sent two of her guys to drop it off, but they wouldn’t even bring it up to the house. My partner and I had to help carry everything ourselves, which we absolutely shouldn’t have had to do. First and last time using this company. Consider yourselves warned!

A big heads-up to Waiheke Movers. The whole process of making contact, getting a quote, and then moving today was really smooth. The guys that shifted our stuff were amazing, friendly and helpful and knew what they were doing. The price was reasonable. Highly recommend Waiheke Movers.

Absolutely fantastic service from Waiheke Movers & Freight. From a quick site visit to survey and quote, to day of moving our items for us was a pleasure. Very helpful, and careful with goods. The guys were friendly, courteous and very professional. I would definitely recommend this company for any moving requirements within Waiheke and off island.

Absolutely outstanding service all round. Called Joanne to help move some heavy furniture around the house in preparation for upcoming baby, and to my delight she was able to confirm movers available not only on the same day, but within the hour! I was expecting to wait possibly weeks for some help. The guys arrived and were totally amazing, moving heavy, heavy stuff in record time, up stairs and down, all with a cheerful and friendly demeanor. Thank you all so much!

It is a pleasure to do business with a local service provider, especially when you live on an island and can't access the mainland for easy collection of goods. Waiheke Freight gets my vote for friendly, timely, and cost effective service. Highly recommend them for transport across the Hauraki Gulf.

WARNING This company is a nightmare. You use them at your own risk. From changing my quote from Km’s to time taken for the job, no communication, no responsibility for broken items, mickey mouse organisation, double booking, failure to shrink wrap and pack items specified, rude, charging more than on the quote, and then handing the invoice to a finance company so they didn’t have any responsibility to be taken to small claims or answer to the nightmare move. Splitting my move to two separate days without my agreement, discussing my move with new vendors and giving them keys to my house before final settlement. Leaving my household items on a driveway from 9am to 6pm without any protection. Forgetting to pack some things. Not turning up until 3pm, when they had been expected at 8am. Packing for 2 hours and then leaving truck in driveway and promises of finishing the next day and moving my stuff a day later tban booked. Smashed and broken items they took no responsibility for but items that should have been packed and bubble wrapped but weren’t. Unloading had to be supervised by me and mickey mouse, 1 guy doing all the work while the other just talked. Unloading without any care and shoving garden tools around antique furniture. Job was booked for a full day with biggest truck to Warkworth. I changed address to Morrin Rd Auckland and got two trucks with ferry rates for two instead of one. Also charged $777 more than quote despite the quote saying 55cm3 and it was only 41cm3 and not to Warkworth but to Auckland snd only a few km’s from the ferry terminal. Use them at your own risk. Rude, dishonest and uncommunicative, no responsibility for stuff ups and broken items.
