Dr Pieter is great but unfortunately I had to be seen by the lady Dr, not sure of her name but for sure sheΒ΄s from Iran, Irak or that area. SheΒ΄s the most rude Dr IΒ΄ve ever met, she was trying to make fun out of me with very ironic comments, very sarcastic. Funny thing is that she also tried to laugh about my english accent, but hers is just TERRIBLE! Most pathetic thing is that she was googling everything as she didnΒ΄t know anything about my issue. You better ask Chat gpt before visiting her, more accurate and not rude as her.

Pieter almost cost me my colon with a misdiagnosis due to my age. Rather than look at symptoms he ruled out diverticulitis based on my age. He prescribed me the wrong medicine which almost caused my colon to explode. I thought it was terrible practice to rule something out based on age alone. They also have put the price up consistently over the last couple of years. For those that live in Devonport and want to save money on doctors visits you can travel a bit further to other suburbs and find places that charge $20 a visit.

Pieter is such an amazing doctor. He makes you feel like you are not just a number and your health is important to him. He is attentive and kind. The best doctor I have ever been to! My family has been going to him for the past 10 years and have continued to see him despite moving further away. This would have been 5 stars if it were not for a nurse that works there with an English accent. She is most rudest women. Asks you questions and speaks over you when you are trying to answer. Then says you are not making sense. Of course Iβm not you are cutting me off every time before I can even get out two words. She scolded me for not changing my address and not updating my subscription? I started explaining that I had tried to change my address during my last visit before and she cut me off again. I have no control over my prescriptions and had no idea what she was talking about or why she telling me off. Then just hung up. So rude!! Despite my love for Pieter as my doctor, I am seriously considering changing doctor just so I donβt have to deal with her any longer. She does this every time I speak to her. I now get anxious whenever call and if I get transferred to the nurse. I have avoided getting my smear done in case it is her who will do it. Would greatly appreciate it if she could be respectful to patients and not talk down to them like they are naughty little children. Please be kind. People who come to the doctor are not feeling good and should not be made to feel worse. Itβs a pity. The other nurses I have talked to and seen there are amazing and so kind. Go out of their way to help you.

Excellent family doctor. Dr Pieter is fantastic - caring, attentive listener and thorough. I feel safe and well looked after. Appointments are easy to make, and they always find a spot for my little one when he is unwell. I'm grateful and thankful for the health care I receive with Devonport Family Medicine

Less than one star! Dr Pieterβs is an amazing doctor but is let down by the operation side of the business! Client supporting medical records are being sent through and sadly they are not accepting them, as they are not reading the emails or just dont want to do the admin. on top of this it is taking over a month to call them to follow up and still they don't seem proactive. Escalated to Dr Pieter's he states that they should not be doing this & will follow up but staff still do not take action. On top of this when you raise your customer/patient concerns the practice manager Monique she shows very clearly she dose not care! When you ask to escalate this to the doctor to discuss she refuses and says you will have to call back to book time with him & hangs up. When you call back she answers and then hangs up on you not allowing you to Book. Has also removed me from contacting the Doc direct via Health365 In my opinion Monique should not be in a position that has anything to do with patient care & I will be reporting.

A great family doctor and we miss the place dearly since we moved out of Devonport. We tried few places on the shore and we still haven't been able to find a doctor or a practice as good as the Devonport family medicin. Dr Pieter is the best - so calm, attentive and does everything in his power to sort your concerns big or small. He remembers you and your family. Here you get a very personal service, easy to get appointments and you feel like it's your family doctor. Receptionist can be a bit nicer but all and all a great practice.

Pieter is a wonderful GP and has been looking after our family for years. He is always kind, caring, patient, and professional. Our entire family has remained registered at his practice even once we moved across the bridge several years ago. As a medical family (two doctors and a pharmacist), we recognise and value his professional and compassionate care, and recommend him to anyone looking for a GP.
