I heard so many negative feedback about this school, but I have done my own research before I enrolled my son in here. To be honest as a mum I am very proud of my effort. My son is showing wonderful progress today and itβs unbelievable. His learning area, physical skills, social skills and emotional skills improve a lot in positive ways. I really want to say Thank you very much to wonderful principle. She is an amazing role model for other staff. During the winter time I have noticed that no matter how weather was bad, principal was helping parents to pick up their children and she open the car doors in the rain and support children to enter in. Other staff also the same, they wait with the child until their parents arrive. As a mum I really appreciated how they are looking after my boy and other kids. School communication is very good with the parents. I feel like I am not missing anything. News letters are up to date through the Hero app. Also, I can see my sonβs progress report through this app and communicate with his whanau teacher. Whanau teacher is so supportive and my son loves his Harakeke room teachers. He always mentioned at home how they were kind and supportive to him. Thank you Hingaia school for this lovely environment.

Have to be very honest, this school is using the IB system, so it is very very different school experience compare with the olden days ( or the school we as parents experienced.) the children learnt to be independent, they can choose what they want to learn. My two girls settled in with very different experience all based on who they are. Talking about the basics that primary school kids should get from the teachers. Children got them all. ( such as reading / writing / mathematics). I have noticed that Hingaia School is a future focused school. They teach children alot of digital related things such as coding. My girl can do much better coding than me........ which is a Wao to me as a parent. So parents who is looking for primary school for your children. Please be clear of your expectations. By the way, principle and school teachers are all nice and friendly, sometimes it is just the communication error.

Open school planning, there is no focus on individual learning. Out of 7 visits I made my child was playing with blocks n legos all the time When asked, the teacher says they learn what they want to learn n they have 70 students to care about. Useless AP. In 6 months could never see the Principal. We are not allowed to have any direct communication with the classroom teachers. Even emails and text messages have to go through the office. Shocking management. The worst school to send if you want your child to prosper. God bless the school.

Principal doesn't talk to parents. Change uniforms overnight and everybody has to buy new ones. Stationery cannot be used next year even though only one page might have been used.
