Took my Range Rover Classic to this guy for quite a bit of work. The repair needed to be done twice. He also removed the fog lamps from the bumper and told me they were stuffed. They weren’t. I asked for them back but they’d mysteriously disappeared. A bit of a crook. Don’t recommend.
I received outstanding service and support from them. It was far beyond what a garage normally does.
Expert mechanic is that I’ve used several times now. Always honest, responsive and gets a good job done. Best in town.
Thanks to this guy I got back home. Right before 5pm and my car wouldn't go... it's a long walk back to Hamilton! He came to the roadside location, got me started & back to the shop for a few tweaks & checks. Thanks so much for the extra effort at closing time & I made it home without a hitch.
I had a horror experience at Long Drive Moror Services several years ago. It was quite a long time ago approx 5+ years, but the memory still burns deep in my mind. I took my Landrover to this mechanic, with the specific instructions that the Head Gasket was blown and I asked for a quote. The owner of the shop said he would have a look at it. He called me back to say that the engine was totally stuffed and he had a reconditioned one available for $4,500, and also to keep my old engine. My response was that i wanted to take it for another opinion. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, It was no where to be seen and he would not give me the car back without me paying a few hundred dollars, he said he had done a compression test but could not provide me a copy of the results. He had hidden the car at a residential address and was holding me to ransom. I was forced to pay him and then took the vehicle to another mechanic who confirmed my initial thoughts that it only needed a head gasket. The end price was circa $1,200 and the engine has since run without a hitch for many years now, and i would never return to that mechanic again.
