Chances St Heliers has a great range of relaxed summer and beach wear and great togs. I often find little gems to get me through the hot months. Denise is always cheerful and helpful. Recommended.
I was left disappointed and very uncomfortable after my interactions at the shop. I went having already done some research, knew the brands I wanted, most weren't in store but I was spoken to very poorly and made to feel like my opinions were wrong due to my body type and told to come back after my attitude had changed.
We're lucky to have Chances in our village, offering a good selection of branded swimwear, Havaianas, and reasonably priced women's clothing. Their team are experienced in fitting. I had a recent experience with a product that was faulty and it was handled professionally by this Kiwi-owned, family business.
Do not shop here if you want to leave with any confidence. I came to Chances Saint Heliers looking for togs for a vacation and willing to pay good money for a decent pair. An older blonde lady was working and was very pushy towards what I should try on. I went into the dressing room and she told me that I had to show her every single piece I try on. As someone who isn’t particularly comfortable showing my body, this was my worst nightmare come true and I didn’t know how to escape the situation. She forced her way into the dressing room and made me pull my breasts up in the swimsuit and do a 360 view so she could rate the swimwear out of 10. At this point I was mortified and wanted to leave the shop as soon as I could. I didn’t bother trying on anymore and as I was so uncomfortable with the experience so I told her I was leaving. She made me wait as she had to - her own words “count every item to make sure nothing was missing”. How DARE she accuse me of stealing after leaving me feeling humiliated. I would have happily bought swimwear if it wasn’t for the overbearing and rude customer service. I will never enter another Chances surf if this is how staff treat customers. PLEASE do not force customers to show the swimwear either! You aren’t expected to do this in any other retail shop. Absolutely ridiculous.

I love Chances Surf in St Heliers Mall, great store, plenty of choice,. Plenty of cool & colourful clothes & bikinis, dresses, tops, shorts & accessories.
