Update 4/12/25: Please triple check everything as a patient. If the Dr talks about referrals follow it up a few days later, a week later, and two weeks later. I was referred for something back in march this year and it wasn’t until October when I went in for the same concern as I was now in more pain that the Dr admitted she was supposed to send me to have an ultrasound in April for specialists to accept the referral but only just saw their response then. Unfortunately there’s now a large growth and although it is most likely benign, 6 months with something that possibly isn’t could be dangerous. 09/12/25: It has its moments. This has been my experience so far: When you’re being seen by the clinical staff, they’re fantastic! But it’s getting an appointment that’s tough. I waited 3 weeks one time just to get a call back to even book an appointment that wasn’t urgent either. I had to follow up every few days to see what the hold up was as apparently a scheduler was meant to contact me, only to find out that the admin person never requested for a scheduler to call me back and even though I was following up, no one really knew what to do. I do understand there’s a 4- 6 week wait for booked appointments at the clinic, which is the usual almost anywhere now and that’s ok. Angelica the nurse, is super passive aggressive and unhelpful if you speak to her on the phone. Her flaw is that she has tunnel vision which gets in the way of actually listening to what the need is. She is very dismissive of you if you have a Māori name and correct her on her mispronunciation as well, which shows that if she cannot respect the basics, she will not be able to understand people completely. A lot of the staff will only help people in their “team” as if we as patients had a choice in wanting to be in a team in the first place. (I think they have 4 different teams for the 1 clinic). Anyone would think that Turuki didn’t mean to work together as a collective since there’s an obvious separation in that setup itself. If you ask for an explanation behind processes that don’t exactly sound right, they don’t give you any reasoning they just say “we’re just told by management to do this”. The reception team also get given jobs they don’t need to do, like re-enrolments for people stating their enrolment had expired even though it only legally expires after 3 consecutive years of inactivity. Which sounds like poor management. When you call their number, the people you speak to can only do very few things. Unfortunately something quite basic like booking an appointment is not one of them. The nutrition or lifestyle coach I’m unsure if they’ve changed since last year but they were so bad with communication and wouldn’t even be on site when you’d be there to attend an appointment that they made. Also if you’re trying to use any of their other services such as budgeting and you use the website to request this, be prepared for all people except the budgeting service team to contact you and you will never hear from the actual budgeting team, so better to just call or go into Turuki to make sure it’s done properly. However, to end this review on a good note, Dr Laine that has relocated to the Nōta is missed dearly and was nothing short of perfect. Dr Ashley is thorough, holistic and amazing!!! And the girls at the reception desk at the Māngere clinic are always so lovely to deal with if you’re there in person. It’s easy enough to say “just change your Dr’s and sign up elsewhere” but this clinic has to change. And I want to see it managed a lot better than it has been because it used to be amazing.

My son is 4years old and is autistic. On our arrival he was fine playing on his ipad. After about 15 minutes something had triggered him off. He started to have a meltdown in the waiting room. overwhelmed with everyone that was looking at us in the waiting room. I would like to say thank you to lovely Nurse I think her name is Angelika who came to check in on me and my son, taken us to another room where my son could calm down. She was with another nurse I think whose name is Anarita who came in to help and offered myself cup of tea. water and anything to help keep my son calm. This is the first time my son had done this so I was very overwhelmed. Dr was about 30mins late past our appointment time but the way we were treated and looked after especially in this stressful time whilst we waited took stress off myself and made me feel supported. Thank you to the whanau in the waiting room who also tried to help me and son. what an amazing community we live in. Nga Mihi Nui Turuki Health Care

Rang to book an appointment & was told the next available appointment was 3+ weeks away but that they do walk ins if it was urgent. First in first serve. Turned up the next day 15 minutes before opening & the line was already out the door & down the road. I waited because I was desperate & my 2 year old really needed to be seen. So many babies & old people out in the cold, waiting & waiting & waiting. The service was good once we were finally seen but the wait to get there was frustrating. There were also no seats once we got inside & the chemist took a long time to fill our prescription. Appointments 3+ weeks away is crazy. Looked elsewhere for a new doctors after this first visit. Wouldn't recommend, especially for babies & young kids. We really can't afford to wait this long to be seen.

Was on hold for an hour .. spoke to 3 different people and the last nurse I spoke to hung up on me before I was finished asking if I could get meds from their pharmacy for my dad who had ran out .. don't want to ring again and wait for an hour online.

I’ve been here since a child and they have always been great! The issue now is the booking system for same day booking. I call 8am on the dot and can never get through, I stay in line then get pushed to record a message and never get a call back. This is very poor, I’ve been unwell over the long weekend and was really hoping to get an appointment!

Trying to talk to someone on the phone on a Saturday was difficult. They said they sent my records to my email. I never received them. All they could say was sorry. I don't understand if Karyssa the clinical administrator can send me an email and I can receive it how come it doesn't work for the nurse who said she sent the record's. Check your system guys

Turuki Health Care is a great Medical Care. Staff there are so lovely . But they need to being the old doctors back. I went to for my appointment yesterday, saw a doctors there etc . To me he wasn't a professional doctor at all, I went in hoping to get some medication for my sides that was in pain for past 2 weeks now. He just did a rat test , n did some blood test etc. I wouldn't go back n see him again.
