Had limited cash so ensured we had a verbal quote. Shouldn't be over $600 and included the ball joints that went away to be rebuilt. Quoted $400 for the ball joints, cost $440. We go the bill and it was $250 over the $600 quote. He said they had to re-align the wheels after. Firstly, he didn't even inform us before he did it. Alignment was $80. Still didn't add up to the $250 extra. Not sure where the rest came from but noted on the bill that everything got extra GST added after totalled. I'm assuming the quote was less GST and the ball joint got included in with the GST calculation. I'm also assuming there was already GST added from the company they sent to, to do the work. Just to ice the cake. Took the car back to get the warrant and hello......there's a new crack in the windscreen? Wasn't there at the first warrant inspection, or when we dropped it off the Short Motors! What the heck!!! Do not recommend!!
Money minded business owners. They quote one thing and charge you another and of course justify it by running a line by line invoice breaking down cost (which I think is ridiculous because their pricing model doesn't add up, just be honest and put a single line because you're just trying too hard) Note to potential customers: Please ask for quote including GST and make sure they don't work on something without asking you for permission. From my experience, this is so that you're not up for a shock when you collect your car. Lastly, you guys lack building rapport with your repeat customers. I'm leaving you because you don't know how to keep a customer. I fixed my car through you and an issue resulted from the fact that you didn't fix it correctly, yet you expect me to pay for that additional fix...surely you're unreasonable and can only think about $$$. Good luck to you really...
