   It was our first time dealing with insight legal for refinancing a home loan from one bank to another bank.when I took a rough quote though phone, the estimated price given was between NZD 1150 to 1200 and no indication was given that price may vary depending on any unforeseen circumstances like number emails sent to banks back and forth etc. Hence it was the cheapest price compared to other lawyers around Takanini we have decided to go though them. Our existing bank took few weeks to release the loan due to their standard loan discharge process and new bank missed to add interest only term in the docs and we have signed those. I’ve raised this with solicitor while signing the docs and he wasn’t sure that it was a prob. Again we have raised it with bank after signing the docs and they realised it’s their fault and sent updated docs to solicitor. We need to go there again for signatures. Nothing was our fault throughout this process and we were charged NZD 2225. We were shocked by looking at the bill but no choice since they have done the process for us. We are in the property industry for over 10 years and did many refinances and this was our worst experience ever. We have an existing solicitor who does the same job for $1250 to 1350 many times in the past irrespective of documentation. Just because we are staying a bit far from them now, tried Insight legal who is close to home costed us around $1000 extra for compromising 40mins of commute. Be aware of their charges if you have decided to go through them.

   I cant thank enough how Solicitor Matthew and Lawyer Rachel helped us in purchasing our first home. As first home buyers, we are like walking in a dark and don’t know where to go but they were our torch. They were very thorough with the details of the contract and made sure that we are safe in purchasing our first ever home here in NZ. Even though vendor used CCC against us, we pulled through and they processed everything within given time. Super blessed to have been introduced with this team. Communication 10/10 as everytime lawyer from vendor messages, rachel always forwards it to us so that we would be in the loop. Price is very reasonable and they did a very good job! If I am gonna purchase another home, these would be my go to guys.
