I have visited this clinic many times & the receptionist are always so rude and grumpy. Just called to check for test results and I was shut down and the receptionist again was very rude. As someone that has previously worked as a medical receptionist myself for many years I could never imagine speaking to patients the way these “medical receptionist” do. They need to better train their staff especially because these receptionist are the first point of contact for this health clinic. Appalling service & would not recommend anyone to register here. It’s a shame because the Nurses and Drs are lovely.

That blonde lady receptionist was amazing. She saw me carrying my daughter in, she went out of her way and grabbed me a wheelchair before we started. Very polite, funny and service was brilliant. Wait time was fair because nurses and doctors took their time to see and they sent us to Starship which was they taken care of my child. Hats off to hardworking nurses and doctors. Have your break when you need it and God bless to you all for the amazing work for the community.

I visited this healthcare provider with my 3-year-old child who had a bleeding cut at the back of her head. The experience was extremely disappointing and concerning from a safety perspective. When we arrived, my child was bleeding through an entire sheet I placed behind her head. Despite this, the receptionist did not take the injury seriously. We waited more than 15 minutes with no assessment, triage, or reassurance. I had to repeatedly approach the receptionist and raise my voice before anyone came to check on my child. A nurse eventually came, but instead of examining the wound directly, she first asked my 3-year-old to hold her own hair to show the cut. This was inappropriate and delayed proper assessment. When the doctor arrived, the first thing she asked me was why I had raised my voice, rather than addressing my child’s injury. I was told it was a busy day and that I should have waited my turn. At no point did anyone check the amount of bleeding earlier or give any indication that my child was safe to wait. As a parent, I had no way of knowing whether the bleeding was serious or not. I have waited patiently many times for non-urgent issues like fever or general sickness, but a bleeding head wound should never be left unassessed for that long. The dismissive attitude, lack of urgency, and lack of communication made the whole situation extremely stressful. I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and very disappointed in the standard of care. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so no other parent has to go through this in an emergency situation.

After waiting for over two hours, I was finally seen by a nurse named Justine. Unfortunately, my experience with her was unprofessional, unpleasant, and left me feeling dismissed. When I requested a simple dressing change, she refused and stated that I needed to see a doctor. As a nurse myself, I know that a dressing change falls well within the scope of nursing practice. Her refusal appeared unjustified and unnecessarily prolonged my care, as I was then told I would have to wait an additional hour and a half to see a doctor. When I asked if I could receive a refund instead, she agreed immediately without attempting to resolve my concern or provide appropriate care. This response gave me the impression that she simply did not want to provide the treatment I required. The manner in which she engaged with me was unprofessional, and I could not help but question whether there was also an element of bias or racism influencing her behaviour. To be fair, I would like to acknowledge that the reception staff were lovely and did their best to help. They even tried to escalate the matter with the senior nurse, Tracey, but unfortunately there was no resolution. This makes me wonder whether there is a flow-on effect from the leadership team that impacts how care is being delivered. I also want to note that this experience was such a shame, as the service I received in June was completely different — positive, professional, and supportive. I believe the care I received on this occasion did not uphold the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights, particularly: • Right 1: The right to be treated with respect. • Right 3: The right to be free from discrimination, coercion, harassment, and exploitation. • Right 4: The right to services of an appropriate standard. • Right 5 & 6: The right to effective communication and to be fully informed. • Right 7: The right to make an informed choice and give informed consent. I have sent an email to complaints and the CEO

Reception service not to good and 1 of the Doctors there she was rude and when i told her i was given the wrong medicine from a different Doctor she was saying she has given the wrong medicine to before and she kind of joked it off, yea they make mistakes but don't need to speak on it like that and act like it didn't matter giving the wrong medicine next time y'all could hurt someone really badly giving the wrong medicine. The nurses are great I don't know what's wrong with the other people that work there. It's like they have all given up on helping people. Why get into medicine to care for the sick when you don't even wanna help them? This world's just getting worse and worse people just don't care to genuinely help people. Sad really.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Counties Care Family Doctors, and I must say, it was an excellent experience. From start to finish, I was impressed with the level of care and attention provided by the staff. Firstly, I was pleased with the quickness of my visit. I didn't have to wait long before I was seen by the doctor, which was a pleasant surprise. The doctor was friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt comfortable discussing my medical concerns with them. They were able to answer all of my questions and provided me with clear and concise explanations of my treatment options. What really stood out to me was the genuine care and concern shown by both the doctor and the receptionist. It was clear that they were both invested in my well-being and wanted to ensure that I received the best possible care. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and had all the information I needed. Speaking of the receptionist, I must say that she was amazing and incredibly helpful. She was friendly, efficient, and went out of her way to ensure that my visit was smooth and stress-free. It's not often that you encounter such exceptional customer service, and I was truly impressed. The only downside to my visit was the pharmacy located in the same building. I was disappointed to learn that they add an extra $5 to every prescription, which I consider to be a fraudulent practice. However, this does not reflect on the outstanding care provided by Counties Care Family Doctors. In conclusion, I highly recommend Counties Care Family Doctors to anyone in need of quality medical care. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely caring, and they go above and beyond to ensure that their patients receive the best possible care. Just be sure to avoid the pharmacy in the same building.

For a&e this clinic is good. For general practice it was not up to standard, nor meeting the health and disability act patients rights. The receptionists and nurses were helpful but, the doctor had trouble understanding my speech (I have no speech impediments) yet did not ask clarifying questions. She did not allow me to speak (instead talking over me) nor explain what or why she was speaking over me and ended up humiliating me by calling people on speaker phone who also could not understand why they were being called without my consent. I explained to the doctor I was afraid of going to the doctors and this seemed more amusing to her rather than her showing any empathy. I would not recommend counties medical for general practice services to anyone. Few people will have the health literacy to advocate for themselves if the doctor will not allow them to speak. I now feel uncomfortable coming back and I’m not sure what to do, I wish I had not signed up with this practice and leave this review in the hope you don’t make the same mistake.

I took myself and my 6 month old son here, Im a registered patient but he isn’t and they charged me $60, made me wait 3 hours only to tell me they cant refer my son or do his vaccines because they aren’t his gp. why even allow me to wait or pay the $60 if they knew he wasn’t a registered patient? waste of money and disappointed.

After a car smash we visited Papakura A&E on Saturday and Monday. Both the doctors we saw were very caring and we felt taken care of. Although it was extremely busy and a long wait the receptionists , nurses and doctors looked after us 100%. They do their best so give them a break!
