Fraser has been the most amazing caring doctor and helped with my issues. The prolotherapy has been life changing. I think people would do well to realize that the team in the reception are fielding many calls and desperate people who want to see Fraser, it must be hard some days constantly having to explain the wait and why.
After almost 4 years of waiting for an appointment I gave 4 days notice to sadly reschedule said appointment due to circumstances outside of my control. I was texted to be told 'you're back at the bottom of the 5 year wait pile now'. I wish this were an exaggerative review, but alas no. Medical care begins at the administrative level. It would serve this team well to understand that they are running a healthcare service, the conduct of which has very real implications for people's lives.
Dr Burling is the most prominent expert in NZ for the rare disorder: Ehlets Danlos Syndrome. He has well over 20+ yrs experience in this very rare field and disorders that can align with it. He is 2nd to none and is without a doubt the only clinician who can safely and properly treat and manage many of the different 14 types of the Syndrome. Highly recommended and a must see if concerns surrounding the types other than Classical or hEDS.
I think the receptionist could do with a little more training on dealing with patients. Phoned up to chase up my referral today after having been phoned 3 months ago with a voicemail telling me Dr was away and they would contact me when he was back to make an appointment. Never heard anything back so assumed he was still away. Coincidentally one of my patients recommended Dr Burling today and remarked that he was back so i thought I would chase up this referral. Firstly receptionist didn't let me finish giving my name and details before cutting me off asking if i was a patient and had been seen there. Then once we had established that i did in fact have a referral AND was contacted on the date 3 months ago she ever so (not kindly) informs me that she "can't give me any dates." . AFTER pulling up my file and informing me that I had a yellow flag sticker stating "to be seen sooner rather than later." Ironic being a healthcare professional but receiving rubbish care from the other side of things.
As an interpreter, Dr. Burling has performed miracles for my patients and yours truly. When no one else could help Dr. Burling and his team have cured everyone I've taken to him. The girls at reception have always been helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Dr Burling is a rare find, and an amazing physician to those of us in the RARE community who are lucky enough to be under his care. An incredibly astute Rheumatologist with a kind and genuine passion for his patients. He NEVER gives up on working to find best patient outcomes.
Called to find out more before requesting a referral, only to be laughingly told the wait list is 4 years long. No laughing matter for people who are seeking treatment help. Felt like a total lack of empathy by the receptionist.
At first I had really good experiences with Dr Burling. But when I came in after a car accident he ordered no tests or images despite saying I had injured my spine. Similarly I came in after a violent dislocation of my should to which he ordered an X-ray (which showed nothing) with no other follow up or referral. Turns out that I had detached my labrum, detached my bicep and torn my bicep which needed surgery. Something that was only discovered thanks to my GP referring me on to a orthopaedic surgeon.
Fraser and the late Dr Orr are total legends, they are miracle workers that have helped countless people literally walk again, when no one else could help. They both had amazing success with my wifes ongoing back issues and also helped me with a crook neck i had put up with for many years. I have been to countless chiropractors and other health specialists over the years, but one trip to Fraser and my neck is near new. Nothing but top marks for these guys. Just book way in advance because they are in high demand. thanks Nathan
