Had a diesel leak after 4pm on a Friday night on our way through Auckland so pulled into this garage. They took a look, discovered the problem and made sure they fixed it on Saturday morning so we could keep travelling through. They went out of their way to sort it out which we really appreciated. Friendly guys too

Called to book a wof upon a friend's reference. Was told the cost will be $75 and they proceeded to do it . After about an hour or so he says the cars failed the wof and these are the issues that need fixing..asked how much and he said will email the quote. I paid for the wof. Waited for couple days and followed up as there was no quote... As the conversation progresses he says I could go elsewhere and I asked but what about your quote, given you have found these faults..he says he is busy and will come back in ten mts.. I said okay but then he says I have wasted his time talking and he has already lost ten mts .. In the call he took more time to find the job number than we spoke .. this is when his communication was poor and almost absent despite my follow ups.
Terrible communication with customers (me as an example). Not clear on what has been done, needs to be done etc. Doesn’t tell you the full amount over the phone, insists on texting it to you (because he is chicken to tell you it’s so expensive). Naively I’ve spent $2500 in two years on a car that’s probably not worth more than $3k as he just goes ahead and does things and says they are important for the warrant. I won’t be going back.

I went to Newdane Motors this time last year but since then I found a new mechanic. They have advised me I paid double the market rate for the work done to pass my last WOF here at Newdane motor which was over $600. If the Michael stopped spending so much time over charging people and making fake google accounts to review this own company and more time doing honest work people would provide 5star reviews.
This was a while back but my key ignition was a bit sticky. Came back 3hours later to be told there was nothing wrong but would cost over $300 for looking at it. What a rip. An honest mechanic wouldn't charge you if there's nothing wrong or maybe labour not over $300. I felt bad for my mum who had to fork out an unfair bill. Dunno how these guys are still in business with their scams. Just read the reviews.
Charged $75 just to look at my vehicle but was "kind enough" not to charge to remove a stone from between my brake pads. Judging from the other reviews this place has a reputation for taking advantage of customers and practically stealing their money. Absolutely disgusted with them.
