Very honest and down to earth operator. Will do an honest appraisal and WOF. Is happy to source second-hand parts when appropriate. It is a rare thing to find a mechanics shop like this. 100% recommend.

Total let down with the service and workmanship, more so disgusted with the sole owner/mechanic of this workshop. I took my VW Beetle there for faulty Brake Light Switch sensor replacement which was causing the brake lights to intermittently go on/off (the bulbs were fine as I had only just replaced and checked them before taking the car in. When I called the place, the mechanic acknowledged straight away that he knew of the EPC light issue which was common amongst VWs and AUDI. I had already looked up the switch which was $60 (inc. shipping) and the installation of it is not much more complicated than simply replacing a fuse. (Plug in clips). When my grandpa picked up the car the bill was $280 - supposedly at “Mates' rates” . 1) $80 Brake Light Switch (Double the normal price and not even including shipping) - I found same product online $60 inc. shipping. 2) $80 labour and shipping (deliberately unclear and unrelated combined itemisation I seems) 3) $40 Brake lights replacement (x2) - I know for a fact that they did not require replacing, as they were replaced recently by my Dad and I had checked them both myself just before I took the car in. Furthermore, I also searched online and numerous sources have confirmed that there is no requirement to change bulbs when you change a switch (makes no sense, just upselling by the way confusion and grossly overcharge for it too! I had bought a pair of them myself not long ago for $12 from Partmaster. 4) $80 Computer error scan - Something that literally takes 2 min to plug in your handheld OBD-II diagnostics scanner and reading what the error is, furthermore this was not even required as the he was already told what the error is and he could see it on the dashboard and also knew right off the bat what it was when I had initially called him 5) Last but not least, all the above could be forgiven as desperate attempts to jack up the bill due to desperate financial times, but he actually gave me the car back without even testing to see if he'd carried the work properly. He hadn’t installed the new Brake Light Switch properly and as a result, the car was running on mildly locked brakes all the way home and I simply did not feel safe driving further. One YouTube video and some OpenAI investigation later, I pin pointed the issue which was that he had not installed and positioned the switch in place properly, so it was sitting too high on the back of the brake pedal, resulting in the brakes not fully disengage when released. I sorted it myself after watching a YouTube vid simply by reseating it . I ended up taking the car in for a checkup to a local independent mechanic to check the brake pads/disc to ensure no damage was done due to this dude's terribly poor workmanship and this incurred me another $65. My grandpa tried to discuss the issues with the mechanic today, but the mechanic got defensive and dismissive, suggesting I fix my own car. This further confirms his lack of professionalism and his fear of being outskilled by a 17 year old girl with access to information sources like YouTube & OpenAI. It's possible he is a poor mechanic with an arrogant personality who refuses to acknowledge others' perspectives. I will seek tribunal mediation to address the matter since he won't provide an explanation open to reasonable dialogue. I plan to share my experience with FairGo to expose this establishment's questionable practices and protect others. Information is the new oil!

Good workmanship but over priced. Went for a wof and paid at least $50 more for my brakes than the other garage quoted me but didn't want the hassle of picking it up taking it elsewhere then back to get the wof.

When you find a garage you trust, you keep it because they're hard to come by. I don't take my car anywhere else any more, and neither do the rest of my family. Autotech are honest, fast, reliable, and very competitively priced. They've helped me out in a pinch more than once and always make sure you understand exactly what's going on with your car. 5*

Had the tyres changed and WOF done .. Didn't tight the bolts properly nearly came off while driving, gave him a ring explain what happened. Asked me to drive back in that condition. He tighten the bolts but different once. He said will order and will change but never called to tell bolts were there. When I called then the owner said it is here . Asked him how come you never called to tell the bolts had arrived. His reply was do want me to post. First he does the shityjob and showing attitude to costumers. Paid full price of $280.00. No refund . But offering discount on top off their useless job. I would have been badly hurt or killed. At the end he said ,don't give me hard time. Shame on these people running on cheaper labour

Great service. I dropped off the car early in the morning and left the keys at the local Store. Also picked up the keys from the store after 5pm. All done! Nice people, great workmanship. Easy! I'll use them again!
