Had a great experience at Car-Men! Pete was friendly, honest, and really took the time to explain what needed to be done. The service was done very professionally, reasonably priced, and my car is running better than ever. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic!
A few years ago we had a car (Toyota), and had it serviced regular at Car-Men. We then sold the car to my brother in law. He then took it for a service at Car-Men only to be told that "this car has never been serviced" Which is an extremely weird thing to say considering the history of the service was done by them... (but my brother in law did change his standard plate to a personalized plate) After he confronted us, we showed him the receipts of Car-Men and thought nothing of it... Now my brother in law also got this car serviced through Car-Men for the next 4-5 years. Then we sold this car... The guy (Auto dealer) we sold it to called me after a week of owning it and said "our service yard says this car hasn't had a good service in 5 years..." due the date on the oil filter, and the brand of spark plugs that were "discontinued" Now, Car-Men are very pleasant and nice to deal with... also they are a reasonable price... but someone there is scamming the public, weather its the owner or one of his workers being lazy. Either way this is not acceptable. For this reason, I have no long continued my cars servicing at Car-Men... Which is a real shame.
I have been going to Peter at Carmen repairs for many years. He has looked after my vehicles over the years and I would say he is the best in this industry. He is hard-working and makes sure the repairs are done perfectly. I highly recommend him for any car repair work.
I was at this car shop two times and both visits were a very good experience... This guy knows his stuff. Took me some time to find someone I can trust and since I'm not an expert, that's what I needed. We were able to discuss repairs that are necessary and fixes that would be nice but can wait. As a backpacker, that's exactly what you want. Go and see him but beware you might spend more time there than expected with discussions about life. The price was reasonable compared to many other shops.

Have used Peter for 20 yrs to fix all my vehicles peter is an old school guy who never cuts corners @ and has the upmost integrity in his field highly recommend.
Peter is a seasoned mechanic. I trust him to treat my car as if it is his own. We are lucky to have Peter serving our community. I never need to worry when I leave my BMW 330i with Peter. It always come back running better than before!
Great service, reasonable and honest. I went here for years when I used to live in Auckland. They won't come up with non-existing issues when you go for a warrant, and depending on your needs/age of car/etc. always tell you if something is worth fixing, try hard to find a second hand part if you're on a budget, etc. Highly recommended.
