Bad service, poor communication didn't even fix the problem had to wait weeks and quoted a price more than $1500 but car came back with half job done. Had different excuses each time and Steve didn't seem to care about fixing the issue. I don't recommend these guys based on my experience. Read some of the other reviews and many complaints about poor communication and long wait times. Fitted second hand parts and couldn't solve the problem

Have been using Steve and the team at Milford Auto Electrical for 11 years. Hard to find specialists in the automotive sector with their knowledge and expertise. Highly recommend.

Fantastic workmanship! However, terrible service and communication. Had to wait weeks for them to return the ECU. Had to call half a dozen times with the promise of a call back which never happened.

Steve (owner) is an absolute legend, always friendly and happy to help, and can sometimes solve whatever the problem is on the spot without even needing to leave the car.

My experiences: 1st day: 10 July Monday 4 pm, discussed issues with Steve, I didn’t want to pay $2000 to fix the Engine leaking problems, which caused 3 warning lights on. I asked him if it was possible to stop the 3 warning lights on, without fixing the leaking problem. He told me to drop off my car the next day. 2nd day: 8 am, dropped off the car to their car park. 4 pm, I asked about any checking results, none. 3rd Day: 4 pm Called them. Steve told me the quote via Phone. He only read out numbers one by one; rather than using the word β€œthousand”, I misunderstood the numbers to hundreds instead. (Lesson 1 learnt: If you are not a native English speaker, ask them to text or email the quote to you to confirm before you make a decision.) 4th Day: 5 pm. I picked up the car and paid in full, shocked by the cost of $1420, which was much more than I expected. 5th Day: 14 July Friday (holiday): 2 warning lights on again. 8th Day: 17 July Monday: Dropped the car to their car park. Surprised to know that they don’t have a courtesy car. (Lesson 2 learnt: find a workshop with a courtesy car, or a workshop they can get the job done quickly to minimise the inconvenience) 10th Day: 4 pm, I talked with Steve about progress, but none 12th Day: 2 pm, I talked with Steve over the phone, and he said there might be another problem with one of the 2 warning lights, not sure yet. 16th Day: 4 pm, met Steve; he said was still checking. He guessed it might be a timing chain issue; he said he would call me tomorrow. 17th Day: no call 18th Day: no call 19th Day: 28 July Friday,11 am, met Steve; he said he had sent a request to BMW for the quote of a part. I said I was unprepared to pay for more parts (Lesson 3 learnt: Steadfast, don’t pay for another part). 11.43 am, Steve sent a message about a refund. I replied for the cost of 2/3. Because the quote was for 3 lights, only 1 light was off so far. He offered $850.56, and I accepted. 1.30 pm, Steve messaged me to collect the car. I collected the car. Gave him my bank account number. 22nd Day: 31st July Monday, 5pm message to Steve about refund 23rd Day: 10am Called Steve about refund, 3 pm, Refund appeared in my Bank Total cost: $570 to get brake pads and the brake sensor replaced. 18 days without a car.

Steve and his Team found my complex window control fault and then fixed it. They went over and above to make sure my car was ready at the end of the day. Steve looked exhausted when I picked my car up at 6pm. I definitely recommend this hard working friendly Team who go over and above to help their customers

Our car had a Service Shifter error which other garages couldn't fix. Steve, Dan and Fynn worked miracles and found the error after a lot of great work. Steve kept us updated through out so we knew it would cost thousands to repair. Not only is this business the best around, Steve the owner has the biggest heart. To ease some of the burden our whanau is experiencing with my wife having Breast Cancer, Steve helped us out financially. Milford Auto is and will always be our business of choice. Our grateful thanks always - Dee & Jacqui Dalley
