JKS Takapuna is an awesome karate school! The Senseis are skilled, attentive, and know how to train each student, whether kids or adults. The kids love the classes, and the atmosphere feels like one big family. Highly recommend!
I’ve been training at JKS Takapuna for over 4 years and absolutely love it! It has an excellent community and uplifting atmosphere. The Senseis are both extremely encouraging, knowledgeable and supportive, helping me step out of my comfort zone and constantly progress in my own abilities. Being at JKS Takapuna has substantially improved my confidence, self-discipline and physical strength and fitness. It provides me with an excellent stress-relief between my studies and a high level of self-defence knowledge. I highly recommend people of all ages to join!
My grandson started as a little tiger with JKS and now grading for his blue belt. This is a great thanks to the club with all their support, encouragement, and patient. Sensei Andrew and Sensi Gilvan are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and great mentors especially with the little tigers. With these extraordinary Sensei’s you also have the club that has a warm and welcoming feeling when you join. The culture and support from everyone are amazing and you feel that you are part of a big happy family. – Even the parents watching their kids. It is the best dojo on the shore, and I would recommend JKS Takapuna Club to anyone that is interested in karate (Young or Old)

New to Karate in my 50's, and found the "New Me" at this new dojo! Sensei Gilvan and Andrew are awesome teachers; patient, encouraging and supportive.
