This store is great for buyers, but unfortunately not for sellers. As a seller, you’re required to pay a non-refundable $60 fee upfront. After that, you have to do most of the work yourself: create an excel sheet of all your items, price them, go into the store, hang all your garments and then attach price tags. You also have to wash and iron/garment steam your clothes. The work behind setting up your rack can easily take 2-4 hours. Making money: Important to note that first GST will be deducted from the sale price that you set for each clothing piece, after that you receive 70% of the balance that is left. The catch: You must sell enough to recover the $60 fee before making any actual profit. This is harder to achieve because garments are only kept in store for one week, which is simply too short for most items to have a fair chance of selling. If your clothes don’t sell in that 1 week, you’re left $60 out of pocket. I tried Regenerate and was disappointed. I then tried out other similar stores to sell my things. Stores like Recycle Boutique offer a more seller-friendly experience – the fee was only $4, and their staff handle the pricing, tagging and display of your garments. The garment checking by staff is clear cut, you're told straight away what will or won't be accepted. Clothes are displayed in store for 7 weeks, compared to the meagre 1 week at regenerate. Even if nothing sells, your loss is minimal compared to the setup here. Overall, while Regenerate may be great for buyers, the selling process feels risky and not worth the effort. What made the experience more difficult is the inconsistency in customer service. Depending on who is managing the store, your clothes may be removed from your rack without a clear explanation. Later on you're told: "this clothing had a stain", but then you see other stained clothes for sale in store on other racks. So the overall 'checking' of garments is inconsistent. There is potential for improvement, but in its current form, I wouldn’t recommend selling here.

My favorite shop in town where I go weekly. The best part is that there's a lot of room and space and aren't too many clothes to choose from. Staff are very welcoming and easy-going so I can take as much time as I need and there's no pressure in any aspect. A big shoutout to Emma and the other girl who are doing a great job at the shop.

It’s a good service but I am not sure that its value for money. You rent a rack for only 1 week - and it remains online for 2. Quite honestly that is not enough time depending on foot traffic in store. I think the option should be to rent for a month.

Gorgeous shop, gorgeous staff! BEST experience at Regenerate. From the communication and seller portal to the shop layout and customer service, everything was seamless. I’ve rented racks elsewhere before, and Regenerate is absolutely the most rewarding, in both experience and simplicity as well as profit. The store is beautifully presented, well lit, and carefully curated, shoppers are genuinely excited to browse and know they will find a quality, affordable second hand item. I made double here compared to what I earned at another place, even though the inital hire and commision was a little higher. That really speaks to the kind of customers Regenerate attracts and the effort the team puts into making it a quality shopping experience. If you’re thinking about renting a rack, I can’t recommend Regenerate enough – professional, supportive, and absolutely worth it. I have rented with them 2x now and truly could not be happier with my experience. Thank you Regenerate team!

Regenerate is an easy efficient way to sell pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories that you no longer wear (to make space in your wardrobe for new pieces!) The process was amazingly simple, and the staff are helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend visiting the shop to buy or sell.

Have had 2 very successful rentals and a market with Susi and always amazed at the great way of reselling my items and earning money. Appreciate all of Susi's time and efforts she puts in to this and the benefits of it all to me and also when personally shopping at Regenerate. Love it!! Thank you so much

I would definitely recommend re:generate Fashion. I've had positive experiences at their markets and rent-a-rack store in Takapuna, where I've rented a rack twice and plan to do so again in the future. The store is a fun concept and a great way to sell and shop pre-loved clothes. It's always a nice experience going into the store, and Susi is very helpful and lovely to deal with. Whether you're wanting to buy recycled clothing or sell it, re:generate Fashion is a great option.

I had a very disappointing experience with selling my clothing at Regenerate recently. I brought in a number of items which were top quality brands and in excellent condition and some brand new, unworn. Susie reluctantly agreed to price them for me. To my surprise I saw that she had priced a brand new 'Forever New' classic navy blazer for $30. This is currently selling at $179 in the stores. I received a meager $20 after the commission was deducted. That was an insult and seemed rediculous. I felt Susie had underpriced my other items grossly compared to clothing on other rented racks. It seemed to be way out of proportion. I had 9 items sell during the week. The total I received after the $80 for the rack hire was only $110.70. This is a mere $12.30 per item! I collected my unsold clothes yesterday and spotted one of my linen dresses in someone elses rack. I told Susie and claimed it. I was given no explation nor apology from Susie. I am now wondering how many other items of mine are on the other racks. Quite unacceptable that this should happen, it didbn't instill much confidence in my dealing with the manageress. I was also told by Susie that I should have been in on the Sunday to collect my items and not Monday. This is family time and it wasn't convenient to time out of my day off and travel from Albany to Takapuna. I found that unreasonable! I had booked another week in April expecting to make $700+, as Susie reassued me that many of her customers did, at the first time I enquired about selling through her store. I cancelled this booking and asked to have the $80 refunded. I have no intention of selling my clothing through Regenerate in the future and will continue to use a tradition recycle shop in Takapuna, where I have always had friendly efficient service and have found their pricing is very good. As a result I receive a good return on selling with them. In a nutshell, Regenerate is a new way of selling with charging rent for a rack, but I found the system unsatisfactory. Also the experience in dealing with the manageress was unfortunate. I found that Susie was unhelpful and her comments on expectations of amount to be made from sales to be deceiving. I definaely do not recommend trading with Regenerate at Hurstmere Rd, Takapuna.

Very cool concept - customers hire racks for one week so the stock is always changing. Customers can choose what clothes they put on their rack, up to 40 garments. Very nice owner and great to see a new business concept in Takapuna main road!
