I was looking for a pair of new sunglasses and found them at Shakes - Leon and Boss are both cool as and are super welcoming in the store, plus they’re a great chat!
Shakes sets the bar for what Retail in New Zealand should be. Great curation that is unlike any other and extremely good customer service.
Store owner is super friendly and helpful. Customer service is 10/10. The store has the best (if not the only) selection of Kuumba incense in NZ! Such a great store and a must visit when you are in the CBD!

bad experience, owner of store was rude was on the phone with my workmate, went into store to browse around, store person asked if I needed help, I smiled and said it was fine and was on the phone , the store person suddenly became emotional and told me he owns the store and saying I was being rude, and emphasized that he owns the place and he is the in charge hes the boss. O.K.A.Y. ......... alright, just coz having the ownership of this place doesnt mean you can have a go at people for no reason. how about some basic respect, boss? and no one ever was intended to be rude in anyway to begin with. what about leaving people alone? people have the right to talk on the phone wherever they want if they aren't loud or if they aren't in the library or museum a piece of advice: turn this place to appointment only/ invitation only p.s. get the emotions fixed might help in the long run of this place.
