Not a bad range but the Commercial Bay one seems to have more? Mostly good quality items, seems like most people tend to wait for a sale to purchase

Very disappointing customer service experience Because the Newmarket store did not have full stock, their staff actively suggested that I go to the City store to exchange the item and even checked the inventory for me, confirming that the City store had stock available. Based on this information, I paid for parking and made the trip to the City store. However, once I arrived, the City store staff refused to process the exchange, insisting that sale items cannot be exchanged or refunded, and told me to go back to the Newmarket store instead. This was not my mistake. The issue was clearly caused by inconsistent information and poor communication between stores, yet the inconvenience and time cost were pushed onto the customer. To make matters worse, the staff attitude at the City store was unhelpful and unfriendly, with no effort made to explain the situation properly or offer a solution. As customers, we should not be expected to deal with your internal policies or store management issues. I hope the company will improve staff training and ensure consistent service standards across all locations. Very disappointing experience.

Terrible staff in the New Market store. The young girl in the men’s section working Friday afternoon 21/11/25 had no idea what she was talking about and the guy working with her was just as useless. Whoever does their buying needs to find a new job coz they never have decent mens wear in store.

Beautiful clothes, unfortunately this was not reflected in their customer service. No acknowledgment by staff, not even when I tried clothes on, for this reason I did not purchase anything. Such a shame their staff were so rude!

A very disappointing experience at COS Newmarket – loyal customers left feeling insulted My boyfriend and I visited the COS Newmarket store today. He found a cardigan he liked and wanted to try a different size. After checking the floor and not finding any, we asked a staff member for assistance. He checked the system and told us that there was only one left in the size he wanted — and it was on a mannequin. My boyfriend politely asked if there was any chance he could try the one on the mannequin, since he was genuinely interested in buying it. Instead of simply helping, the staff member questioned him: “Are you really going to buy it?” and told us we MUST purchase it if it was taken off and tried on. He was pressuring him into a purchase, like we were being forced into a sale, which was unnecessary and rude. He then gave a weak excuse that it was a “HYGIENE ISSUE” and would need to be steamed again. It was clear he wasn’t keen to do the task and was trying to discourage us. My boyfriend walked away feeling quite offended, and told me what happened so I approached the staff member again to clarify. I gently asked, “Are we allowed to try the cardigan from the mannequin or not because of hygiene?” His response was a loud sigh and a sarcastic smile: “Ah… it’s not. Hugh… I’ll get it out for your boyfriend, okay?” His attitude was condescending and dismissive. We stood frozen, shocked by the attitude. I asked again, “So we can try it on?” and he replied, “Yea yea, I’ll do it for you,” clearly annoyed. He did start removing the cardigan — but even then, asked his colleague to help him because he “didn’t want to pull the arm off” the mannequin. It was obvious that he didn’t want to be doing it and was making that discomfort very visible to us. I finally said, “Can you not give us that attitude?” to which he defensively replied, “What did I do? I gave it to you.” He never once apologised or took any responsibility for the way he spoke or acted. We were really disappointed and went to another floor to complete the purchase. There, we spoke to another staff member (possibly the manager) and she was incredibly kind and apologetic. She reassured us that there is NO HYGIENE POLICY that prevents customers from trying items on mannequins, which confirmed our suspicion that the staff member simply didn’t want to help. Most importantly, she told us we are welcome to write a Google review and even gave us the name of the staff member we dealt with: DANIEL – he was wearing a sky-blue sweater and jeans. We’ve been loyal customers at COS Newmarket for years and have never encountered such unpleasant service until now. It’s extremely disappointing that one staff member’s laziness, dishonesty, and condescending attitude could ruin what should have been a simple and positive shopping experience. We fully understand that it’s not ideal to remove clothes from mannequins, , especially toward closing time — but if you’re working in retail, helping customers should never feel optional or be met with visible irritation. A simple, respectful tone makes all the difference. We hope the store takes this seriously. No customer should be made to feel uncomfortable or pressured into buying something and also no one should be made to feel like they’re a burden just for wanting to try something on. That’s not how customer service should work. This kind of behaviour is more than enough to make a loyal customer reconsider ever coming back. We will think twice before returning.

Love COS, staff are great & most items are sustainable easy wear fabrics and styles to love & wear.

Stylish clothes at a reasonable price. In other cities there are so much to choose from, I wouldn’t really go into a COS store, but in Auckland, aka the fashion desert, COS is already very good. The price of the two Auckland stores are slightly higher than it’s overseas counterparts.

Hadn't visited Cos in a while. Today was very busy - sales on. Unfortunately the women's sale racks were downstairs where there is no changing room I went upstairs using the narrow winding staircase that is not people friendly. Should have used the lift! Busy changing room, as expected. There were a few groups of people sitting directly outside the changing rooms giving opinions as their friends/family came out in the outfits. While this would normally be a good concept, it doesn't really work during busy times. I gave up and left.

Recently visited COS Store in Newmarket and had such a great experience. The store is immaculate and orderly, amazing atmosphere and has a great selection of clothes. The manager was amazing!!! she helped me find clothes that complimented my body type. Overall the staff are so friendly, warm and welcoming. I got greeted when I entered the store, this showed that I was acknowledged. Can’t wait to visit again

Friendly staff, great clothing, and well set out store. Quite expensive in NZ compared to other COS stores overseas but I guess stock has further to travel. Shopped at New Market a few times, most recently Aria helped me and was excellent, really helpful with sizes. I would recommend this store and clothes - good quality on both accounts. Thank you
