   At Black Knights, they empower the individual to be more confident and positively interact with others. They are very authentic in their practice of Jiu-jitsu and make it a fun and inspiring environment to return to on a frequent basis. Although Ricardo is highly accomplished at competition level, his genteel demeanour makes you feel comfortable learning the skills and being challenged with new manoeuvres. He has a great manner with children and young people. I would have no hesitation recommending Black Knights as the go-to BJJ school on the North Shore or Hibiscus Coast, whether for adults or kids.

   I trained in most bjj school on the shore. I can say here you can truly develop your game that suits you. Gym is open 24/7 you can organize your time if you want to train with your training partner. Here in black knights Ricardo us very good professor who is bit open minded then any other gym as long as you don't hurt your training partner you can practice position and submission that are deemed and prohibited. This is good learning environment.

   I was a bit nervous when I stepped on the mats for the first time, but Rica and the team were very warm and welcoming. Jiu-jitsu is arguably one of the toughest things (physically and mentally) that a person can do, and having the right coach like Rica, and the right team, can really help you progress on and off the mats. You not only get fit, but you learn to defend yourself, you join an awesome, supportive and encouraging community (and make news friends to boot), you may learn a bit of Portuguese, and it will help improve so many things in your life outside the gym (mental toughness, discipline just to name a few). It really can be life changing. I've been training at Black Knights / Tukaha BJJ for 2+ years now and I've been all the better for it. Thanks Rica!

   Awesome academy! Instructors are friendly and professional. The vibe at this gym is very inclusive. My kids have recently started and they love it! great for building confidence and improving fitness. Jiu Jitsu is a great discipline for ages to learn.
