Both of my children are under Dr. Argent. We were struggling to see a paediatrician after 4 years of waiting.In 3 months time, due to the clarity and follow up by Dr. Sue and Nurse Lesley we finally saw a paediatrician.Thank you for keeping me in the loop and making sure my children have amazing care. A doctor scheduling a patient for a procedure, then letting the patient come to the appointment, make them wait 35min just to tell them YOU are not comfortable administering the medicine AND then charging them for the visit because the patient took up one of the slots is absolutely ridiculous and borderline unethical. You could simply have phoned the patient and cancelled the appointment.
My experience with Eastmed Doctors stretches over many years and I can highly recommend this practice. Louise de Candole, our GP, is excellent, caring, professional and thorough. I feel fortunate to have her as our GP. Lesley McLeod, her nurse is very experienced, caring and incredibly helpful. I have never had any issues with the reception staff, who are sometimes very busy, as are all the staff in the practice. This is how it is in our post-Covid world, where there is a shortage of medical professionals, across all areas of the health sector). I have always found that if you treat people with respect and the way you would expect to be treated, you will receive the same type of response in return.
I have been bringing my large family here for many years. The doctors we have seen (and that is probably all of them) are all excellent, caring and thorough. I’m confident with all of them. I agree that a few of the reception staff have been not as warm/caring/cheerful as I would have liked in previous years (as can be seen from some past reviews) BUT the current reception team are efficient and pleasant to deal with. Hopefully this standard continues so the initial feeling when people arrives is positive and that they are cared for. The online system is great allowing to make appointments for the whole family and view results online.
I moved to another doctors as this one was too expensive, had extremely rude receptionists and it was too hard to get an appointment.
Saw Annie Bradley here years ago and her Nurse Anne. Also saw a locum while I was pregnant. Annie Bradley became dismissive of my and my ex's issues and refused to help us both. Nurse Anne was abominable, she and other office staff abused me verbally whilst I was pregnant after a run in with a locum doctor who wouldn't help with WINZ paperwork when Dr Bradley was away. I was going through domestic violence and was heavily pregnant. I left the practice in tears and broke down outside. A passing motorist showed me more compassion than this team. I think these two have left the practice since but its left me with real trauma. Sadly ended up with even worse doctors at another practice in Remuera. What is it about these places? Too elite to care?
The doctors are amazing and lovely. The reception, nurses and the whole admin team is rather disrespectful. Had a number of issues with them and the last straw was when my appointment with the nurse was cancelled the same day. I’m surprised that cancellation policy doesn’t go both ways and my time and money are not being respected in this establishment.
Doctors are lovely and I have always had a good experience with mine (Grace Wong) but the reception staff and nurses need to work on the way they speak to and treat the patients. I often find myself dreading having to make a phone call or deal with them before I go in to see my doctor. For the price you pay you would expect a better experience and service. Have only stayed on with them due to the kindness of my doctor.
As some of the others have said that the receptionist is not nice. The manager is also not nice. We went to a Eastmed Doctors a few months ago and the receptionist was very disrespectful behavior to us and felt uncomfortable. We were shocked to find out that veteran receptionist was very disrespectful behavior to us, but very friendly to the Caucasian who came after us. Also, there was an incident that seemed to be harassment when we paid. At that time, I didn't say anything and just put up with it and went home. I thought it was just because we are an immigrant.(Asian) But it didn't stop there. Later, the receptionist manager called me and threatened me in an intimidating manner. It was really rude and strong words, even though it was the receptionist who made the mistake. The above two things made me feel very uncomfortable and at the same time I thought that I was being discriminated (racist) or harassed. I told the manager about it, and it was sent to the Clinic’s complaint department. However, the response from the complaints department was also one-sided and not very polite, to be honest. I hadn't heard from them in 6 or 7 weeks even after I replied to them, and then suddenly they sent me an email saying they had done enough and that they want to close the complaint. Then again, this time over a month no replied. #( The complaints department at the clinic is a remote worker from Australia who doesn't see the receptionist on site.)# We don't think they take this issue seriously, they just feel like we are waiting for us to forget and be quiet. We do not want to forgive unless there is a sincere and formal apology.
