DO NOT come here to get any kind of contraceptive. Very old school traditional small minded stigma that still exists. The way they handled a IUD insertion was terrible. NO explanation at all with this procedure being very invasive already. Did not place it correctly was rushed, had to get it removed while it was painful during and afterwards. Which no one cares to inform or talk to patient about. What kind of training have these nurses gone to seriously. There’s so much research stating IUD is the best for menstrual problems and as a contraceptive, it’s such a pity that many woman have to experience nurses who rush or don’t know how to do their job properly and in turn have the worst experience ever. Preventing a lot of people from receiving the benefits. Truly you would expect a female to empathise with another but it really be your own kind. (Also received further information that this contraceptive method is actually not always recommended for people who have not had children before as they have a small cervix which would be extremely painful.) Please do better it’s 2024 not the 80’s.

Not the most savoury part of Auckland however the service at Mangere Community Health Centre was most excellent. Well informed by the Dutie Nurse and very helpful with organizing procedures. Keep up the good work.

# 17/8 4.5 + Hr Wait for a 9 Year old - Yesterday a family member took their 9 yr old son to see the doc for more medicine/check up . They entered the premises @ 15:48 (I checked this) and we left the premises after 20:00. The chemist had closed so defeated the purpose to get medicine the same day. I need to understand why the 9yr was waiting 4+ hrs to see the doctor - was his age not taken into consideration? Also the waiting area does not permit eating or drinking (a person working 8hrs would have had at least 2 breaks in this time). Why is there no option to ring a mobile no if the waiting time is 1+ hr long to wait? Especially for children & the elderly. Also, if the family after waiting 4.5 hrs left, they would have to line up again to see the doctor the next day # No win situation. When we finally left, there was an elderly couple waiting (last patients) NOTE: the doctor/nurse/administrator - remained pleasant & professional in what would have been a long shift them. ** Please take this feedback into consideration **

This place deserves no stars..when seeing a doctor. The wait time is terrible..There use to be more Doctors for a very busy Community Health Centre..Now theres up to three Drs ... This is a Pacific Island community we need more Doctors in our area please..That would solve the wait time at this centre.
