Easy tramp in from Catchpool carpark. Great place to take inexperienced people. The fire in the hut works well and will keep you warm if you are there during winter. You will need to collect wood though, but plenty can be found by the river

Great little hut, does get cold in the valley though so thermals aren't a bad idea. Plenty of plates, bowls, cups, cutlery and cookware provided. Little potbelly stove for cooking with but you'd be better bringing a little camping stove. Toilet paper is generally there but I wouldn't risk it, along with candles or some lighting. the long drop has been cleaned out! As everyone else who visits has noted, firewood can be a bit scarce or wet. Doc have dropped a load in which was a little damp so some has been dried and placed around the stove along with tinder and kindling... Should be all set to go for the next lot. Would be nice if others did the same otherwise you'll spend an hour or two getting a good fire going to heat water. Left more firestarters as well. Dont expect any cell service unless you head up the river bed previous to the hut. There's spotty reception up there in places.

Great little place would be helpful if the fire wood is stocked up before you can get there as it's a mission looking for wood in the dark
