Not a pleasure dealing with them!!!! I traded my car in and the new finance company has paid off my account. I called Geneva and they confirmed that they see it has been paid off, but will only release the security after 48 hours. According to the dealership all other institutions release the security as soon as the money can be seen in the account. This is placing unnecessary timeframes on transactions and ending up costing me more on insurances etc. Will not recommend them at all!!!!!!

Worst finance company around.do not deserve 1 star but minus 0. They Operate more like loan sharks.. Customer service is zero. No communication within them selves. They can have 2 people phone at the same time then charge you for it. They are Master of charging fees.. Never deal with them

Before borrowing from (or, for that matter, investing in) Geneva Finance it is worth reading this review and the others here. I'm a previous borrower who's recently completed a 4 year contract with Geneva Finance. Many of the negative, angry reviews about issues people have had with Geneva Finance are true but also "textbook" if you're familiar with Geneva. Some positive ones look suspicious too. Hopefully my review provides more details. Geneva Finance has recently made significant investments towards branding, a new website and the general image of their company. Despite these efforts, it appears they have NOT changed from a systems, processes and operational perspective. Here's important things you should be aware of prior to borrowing from Geneva Finance NZ. Key topics are 1. Conduct of Staff and Operations, 2. Management of Arrears & Debt Collection and 3. Level of Customer Service 1. Conduct of Staff and Operations: It appears there's a massive level of miscommunication between Geneva Finance staff, potentially poor record keeping systems in place too. It isn't unheard of to receive letters, texts and phone calls (all of which have fees associated with them*) including warnings on late payments that have already been made or in regards to issues that have already been discussed and resolved with other staff members. In situations where SMS texts are considered spam, the text should be forwarded to the Department of Internal Affairs for review, which is a free service. * I need to confirm calls have a fee. While letters and texts do, the "Admin fee" on statements may be for calls but not 100% certain 2. Management of Arrears & Debt Collection: Financial institutions are within their right to exercise all necessary efforts to ensure recovery of arrears and losses. Geneva Finance exercises this ability via: - Automated texts - "Attempted Calls" - Repossession letters. Fees for texts, calls or letters are added to your account - due to miscommunications or poor record keeping, you run the risk of fees being added indiscriminately and with no due process, despite issues already being resolved. Geneva Finance will also "attempt" to phone you - this can be done regardless of preferred communication (i.e. e-mail). These calls are concerning; very often they only ring for about 5-8 seconds before disconnecting. As mentioned, I have to confirm that calls have a fee. If so it's a worry. Lastly, repossession letters. By the time I'd paid over 90% of my loan, I had issues with my last couple payments. After Geneva's 2 "missed calls" that rang 5-8 seconds I got a repossession letter via e-mail with a "$25 Letter Fee" attached. This was tremendously frustrating. They're supposedly automated so I question where the $25 figure comes from. While entitled to do so under the terms of the contract, with completion of said contract approaching and with no reasonable effort made to contact me it leaves a lot to question. Terrible way to do business, good way to leave a bad taste. 3. Customer Service: "Arrangements" are offered, apparently making no change to payment dates - it just stops calls and e-mails. Routine tasks and getting in touch for other general matters is difficult and slow. Suspicious reviews: Part of the rebranding efforts, it appears, is a suspected drive of "sponsored" or "fake" reviews. Looking beyond the endless negative reviews on this profile it would appear there's a handful of positive reviews, written with brevity, mentioning particular staff members. They look incredibly similar and it would come as no surprise if they're fake - especially as some of these accounts have just a handful of reviews. Approach these with caution. Summary: I advise you do the research before investing in Geneva or borrowing. Despite a pretty new face, their way of doing business suggests otherwise. So glad my contract's done, I honestly wouldn't recommend them to anybody. That you can find plenty of finance companies with endless positive reviews, and then there's, well, this, is pretty telling.

Unfortunately I am now finding myself in a position wherein I'm sending multiple emails and a phone call, in order to get a refund for an Instalment that was put through as the finance agreement was settled. Settlement quote, valid till 29/07/2024. Settlement was paid on 26 July. However another debit order was deducted 2 August, and this is owed back to me. My first email requesting the refund was sent on Friday, August 2, 2024 5:23 PM 2nd email:Thursday, August 8, 2024 12:57 PM-response stating that the refund would take place 9 August 3rd email:13 Aug 2024, 08:32-no response phonecall 14 August 10:30am-no response

Those people are very dishonest people, please do not trust them. Those five star reviews are made by the company it self. It is the worst finance company ever.
