Shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful. Staff thought it was acceptable to make fun of me in thier local language (Arabic), not realizing I understood. This demonstrates a clear lack of customer value and business ethics. I will not be returning and would caution others.
Do not recommend. Got a haircut and the barber was just such a rude and unhappy person. Didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. The African looking chap. When said what I wanted in very simple terms- which honestly did not need a in depth explanation since it’s not rocket science. He proceeded to give me a lecture. Only the Asian lady who worked there acknowledged me- she didn’t have but she did. It’s just manners Just walk across to the next barber store JTs. Much better people. Also, they advertise haircuts for 20 bucks but I end up paying 30. False advertising.
I can’t believe this happened to me in a city like Auckland. I work in retail, so I understand what good service and respectful behaviour look like — but my experience today at Viti Barbershop left me genuinely shocked. I’ve visited this barbershop many times before and always had positive experiences. However, today was completely different. When I tried to explain the haircut I wanted, the barber (a young guy) responded with rudeness. I ignored it the first time, but when I clarified what I wanted for the top of my hair, he became rude again and showed an unacceptable attitude. When I calmly asked why he was getting angry, he became even more disrespectful and started arguing, telling me things like: “I don’t give a shit about your money, I will kick you out…” Even at the end, I tried to stay calm and understanding. I told him that maybe I didn’t explain myself clearly and that I might be at fault. Instead of de-escalating, he continued arguing and told me, “You are like a child.” I honestly don’t know where this behaviour comes from or what kind of upbringing leads someone to treat community members this way. His behaviour today was a shame to himself and, unfortunately, reflects poorly on his family as well. It showed no manners, no respect, and absolutely zero sense of professionalism. This has been the worst experience I’ve had in New Zealand so far.
It was a horrible experience. Don’t know how to cut hair properly and claims to be owner. He even wounded my ears multiple times. While using hair dryer he got to hottest setting , I told him “it’s too hot man” instead of changing setting continued and said I was just trying to dry hair …. Man ofcourse don’t burn me while “drying”. Not even a single sorry. Really inexperienced people idk if they are allowed to open this shop. Came here just to avoid waiting on other two good barbers in the area but I now knew why they are not that busy . Worst place

My two sons cuts were exactly as asked. Quality barbers that I can trust to always make my boys look sharp and tidy. Good reasonable Pricing as well!
Walked in at 5.30pm to the worker rudely says NO WE CLOSING. Why dont you change you shop hours, because at the moment it says it's closing at 8pm but you stop taking customers at 5:30, how pathetic. And learn some customer service skills, while you're at it.
My sons one and only barber he will let cut his hair. Hes the man! Go to him, if you don't mind the wait as he always gets busy and has ppl who will only go to him. That's how good he is. He's attentive and takes his time, knows how to cut. Prices are reasonable too! 2nd chair (usually) quite the artist aswell...
Desi has been my boys barber since they were youngsters. I've always had a hard time finding that right person who has passion and not just snips away making them look tidy. Desi does an amazing job where I feel like the money is well spent. We won't go to any other so I hope you don't go anywhere.
