Dear Parcelmate team, I just wanted to take some time to leave a review for your services recently. For context, we are a growing Lion Dance team in Auckland and purchased a large volume of costumes and gear from China. Unfortunately, the shipping company that was referred to us from our supplier tried to scam us by quoting $15,000NZD for shipping costs to New Zealand. At that point, we knew that we had to look for alternatives and that's when we were referred to Parcelmate through a contact of ours. I wanted to extend our thanks to the team and Brian in particular who provided us with guidance and professional service to get our goods here. The shipment of two large wooden crates arrived on our doorstep last night and NOTHING was damaged. The best part was - total cost (landed and to my doorstep) was three times LESS than what we have been quoted by the first company in China (absolutely ridiculous). Parcelmate will now be our preferred shipping/logistics company of choice and a personal thank you to Brian - we really appreciate all the help you have given us thus far. Absolutely appalling. If your couriers can't communicate with the customers, what kind of service are you trying to provide? I received a call today while away from an unknown number and when I picked up, someone was speaking in Mandarin. Not understanding what the man on the other end was saying and not knowing the number, I hung up. The same number immediately called back and with the man switching to English and identifying that they don't know English but got across they're a courier trying to deliver my package. The courier then asked me to speak in Mandarin (a language I don't speak or understand) in a frustrated tone and switched back to Mandarin themselves to communicate with me with their voice raised and clearly frustrated with their inability to communicate with me. Through my security camera, I can see he was attempting to deliver my parcel and was already standing in front of my property (a townhouse unit) and have scanned the parcel to mark it as delivered (which I got notification of) before it was even delivered. On the phone, he kept saying the street number and I confirmed he was at the right street number but make sure he delivered to the right unit number (there's also a unit number with the same number as the street number and some couriers have been confused before). The courier hanged up on me and I immediately called back, concerned as I could see him through the security camera leaving the front of my unit with the parcel still in hand AFTER I already received notification that it was delivered. He scoffed when he picked up and exclaimed again he doesn't know English and continued to communicate with me in Mandarin while I reiterated I don't understand the language and very firmly stated that he shouldn't attempt to deliver to the wrong address (again, he was already standing right in front of the right one), that I would make a complaint if he did, (which he scoffed and laughed at) and I tried to guide him back to the right unit. Thankfully, a neighbor who passed by was able to speak with the courier in Mandarin and confirm with me my unit number and that I could see their interaction through the security camera and happy for the courier to leave the parcel at the property. While I got my parcel in the end only with the help of a neighbor, the courier's communication and behavior was appalling. I would discourage anyone from using ParcelMate and I will never be able to trust couriers from this company.
