Nice playground to bring the kids. Good space to play and the little train track is fun. Lots of grass around to sit and relax. Toilets close by. Clean area and nice views. Good place to spend some time with family.

Great playground for a Saturday outing with kids. There are heaps of slides, swings, a see-saw, and a tall wooden house they can climb into with a ladder—ours spent ages up there. The red train is super popular (you’ll likely need to queue), but it’s a fun little ride around the park and worth doing at least once. There’s proper shade from trees, toilets nearby, and spots for a picnic that aren’t right in the sun, which makes a big difference. If the kids get bored, you can head across the road to the Stardome—$5 entry and a nice little add-on with kids. Also across the road is a handy little café that’s genuinely kid-friendly—think toy box, toddler table, and relaxed vibe. Love having that option when you need a coffee or snack break. Only downside is the parking—it gets packed on weekends so carpool if you can. Overall, definitely recommend for a half-day visit. It’s got enough variety to keep most kids entertained, and the vibe is relaxed.
This playground is inside the One Tree Hill Domain. It has been well maintained over the years. Parking can still be an issue, since the place is so popular. The open spaces and the train ride in the playground are awesome for kids. Proximity to the One Tree Hill summit walk track is a bonus and one can easily spend half a day in this area. Sheep and cattle watching is an interesting activity for urban kids who get a taste of farmlands right in the centre of the city. Long walk tracks are also demarcated and well maintained in here. Public toilets are also available close by and another one in the Star dome observatory premises. Highly recommended for a lazy weekend.
We love this playground and come every time we visit Auckland. The special train is the best feature but clean toilets, ease of getting to , parking, water dispenser. Plenty benches and picnic tables. Worth a visit! Just wish people would stop feeding the pigeons so those don't feel you sitting down is an invite for a meal !
Daughter loves it. But too many trees around makes the play area all messy with leaves and what not. They should add more rides though as when it's busy, gets crowdy and kids have to take turns.
Well, last day in New Zealand and a great park to finish the trip with our Grandson. There were a lot of people there with littles for a Monday morning, but everyone is so polite and respectful of everyone else's space and took turns on all of the play things. The train is a big hit for everyone.
Beautiful park,great for autumn birthday parties and other gatherings. Enough parking space, accessible toilet, and barbecue spot at the center of the park.
Excellent Playground. Lots of space for both little ones to play, and for older kids as well. Lots of big, old trees providing lovely shade in the summer. The big red train is a favorite for young kids to ride around the track, while the flying fox is a big hit for older kids. The Stardome is next to the Flying Fox.
