The receptionist, Sarah, is one of the most horrible people Iβve met and I was only at the centre for an hour. To be rude while working and disrespectful to the other receptionists in front of everyone, makes me worried whatβs sheβs like outside of work. I like the facility of the place and the doctors are fine but I canβt go to a place that supports a person like her.

My daughter and I were visiting Petone from the Sth Island on the last day of our trip when out walking she needed urgent medical attention. With the Medical Centre close by, Dr Istvan and his wonderful team were able to stabilize her until an ambulance arrived. Dr Istvan was so kind and caring to us both, just amazing really, and we are eternally grateful for his expertise and kindness. The receptionist was wonderful also in our urgent plea for help. Thank you all so much.

I have always found Sarah on reception/Admin super efficient, she knows that place like the back of her hand. The nurses, and GP's are fantastic. We've been patients for roughly a decade now, and from the kids, to my husband, we've always had fantastic service from the entire team. The nurse practitioner has a fantastic sense of humor too- can make a stressful day much brighter!

Petone Medical Centre holds a cherished place in the hearts of many, including myself, having been a patient since the days of Dr. Ian Milne's stewardship back in the nineties. Established as a family-centered partnership, this practice has stayed true to its core values of providing affordable and holistic healthcare with compassion and empathy. Stepping into the modest confines of the "ancient little cottage" that houses Petone Medical Centre, one is immediately struck by its homely atmosphere. There are no extravagant bells and whistles here, just a functional workplace that reflects the modest lifestyle of its founders, Dr. Ian and Janet Milne. Despite the passage of time, the practice has retained that personal touch that puts patients at ease even in the midst of stressful medical concerns. Whether it's the warm greeting from the receptionist or the genuine care and attention from the medical staff, one feels truly valued and respected at Petone Medical Centre. The legacy of Dr. Ian Milne lives on in the dedication to high-quality care, integrity, and teamwork that permeates every aspect of this establishment. While the faces may have changed over the years, the commitment to providing excellent healthcare remains unwavering. In a world where healthcare can sometimes feel impersonal and clinical, Petone Medical Centre stands out as a beacon of compassionate and empathetic care. It's not just a place to treat ailments; it's a sanctuary where patients are treated with dignity and respect, just as Dr. Milne envisioned when he first opened their doors back in 1978.

If we go to see a doctor because of blood pressure, the actions and reception of the receptionists on duty will increase our blood pressure even more. The two receptionists who have been working there for over three years make us feel like they are approaching us on a color basis. Their faces become stern even when they see us. Gentle words will not be revealed. Even on the phone they answer rudely. We have to tolerate their neglect considering the need of a doctor in our native language

Great doctor! Very caring. Very reasonably priced too. Although appointments are often booked out, the app is really handy for booking non-urgent appointments and it is usually possible to get a same day appointment if really needed.

Came from a very bad gp to a brilliant one here. Yes, getting an appointment is hard but there is a daily triage from 8am-9am. There are early morning appts (7am Weds) as well. I have extremely complex health needs and they have been amazing. My father is also well looked after here. They actually care about their patients. Often if I need an xray or test I get the text to call to set it up minutes after leaving the office, minutes not weeks!! Can not reccomend Dr Deepshika Munshi enough.

i was just recently enrolled here and it was my first time calling in today to check and see if i could make an appointment. they said that they were fully booked and donβt do after hours on weekdays even for urgent reasons. i am in need of help, but the receptionist just said that i should go to the after hours or just wait until monday so i could try and book again. wtafβ¦ not much of an information giver, she hung up as quickly as she couldβ¦

Other than the fact it's always fully booked with no free appointment spots, receptionist lady is impolite, lacks logic, and very very rude, this isn't the first time. Would suggest getting more inhouse doctors? and maybe replacing the receptionist lady? Last thing anyone needs is get made feeling rejected when they're ill.
