   My car battery light came on on a weekend in Auckland and after I drove it to an AA service centre, they told me I would not be going anywhere until I got my alternator replaced. They quoted me over $1k just to get it checked on MONDAY. Mind you even insurance was not working and took 3 hours to organise a tow. By then, I was already in touch with the lads from GEM. They recently had a change of ownership and looking at reviews, I was skeptic at first to go with them. However, my experience has been nothing but fabulous! Timely and cost effective repairs were done within a 5 hour window. I ended up paying just under $1000. This also included a courtesy vehicle. Their courtesy vehicles were all out so the co-owner kindly lent us his personal vehicle. Communication was speedy from accurate quotes for my vehicle, with text updates. I can’t praise them enough. Highly recommend! Despite the recent poor reviews, their car yard and workshop was absolutely full of cars in for works…. I think this alone speaks to their expertise and passion for car repairs. Massive thank you to Raj for getting my car done so quickly at such short notice!

   Please don't go here. People who work here are so bad . Worst customer service ever. Parked my car at the back and one of the guy who worked there didn't even tell me to move the car . He just took reverse with another car and hit my car bumper. And said abusive words. Please don't go if you need to be treated with respect.

   Been waiting for my refund for over one nonetheless now . Receptionist couldn’t refund it to me saying their account will get back to me . Called after lock down, manager picks up saying that receptionist is away. Called receptionist , said that the manger will get back to me . Going in circles over 1 and a half month . Screen shots attached on their fb placed . Avoid this place - they also quoted me much more then what I paid for in other mechanics store . Total rubbish . Texted him no answer ! Avoid !!! Wait till the notice .

   Worst service I have seen. I brought a Grabone Coupon and dropped my car at SAR Automotive for maintenance and WoF inspection. The reception told me will taking about 1 and half hours, but I have been waited for 4 hours. Upon receiving the car, your team told me WoF failed and gave me a list of the car problems with a $600 quote. I pass my car to my friend (Who was a professional in car fixing) to check for me, he told me I was deceived. There is no need to change the fixing but just a small adjust. Maximum cost for all will only take $200. After my friend checked around my car and adjust some fixings. I called SAR Automotive and would like to book to re-pass the WoF. The person who received the phone call told me he did not carry a WoF Card with him today and ask me to come tomorrow. Sucks doggy mechanics.

   Girls please avoid these shameless men . Really bad . They do not provide an invoice . Ask for upfront payment . Then quote u more . Asked for refund because the service sold $69 GrabOne voucher was not applicable to the service they apparently wanted to do ( $650 they quoted me lol) . Receptionist said account will get back to me . Called after 2 weeks , manager says owner will get back to me , owner said will check with the receptionist ( they seem mentally challenged people ) . Very ill- literates staff. Btw got my car fixed for $280 . Useless pieces of garbage .

   Very quick and affordable service. I had problem with my car and been to couple of other panel beaters but this place is the half of the price which other have quoted. And my got fixed in one day time which was awesome. I will definitely recommend this place for all your car fixing need.
